Re: Long journey ahead ......

Great job, Neil. :) Another thing I might throw out there is that unless you're someone who really likes a fixed routine, it's a good idea to get some of variety in your workouts. First, it helps keep things interesting so you don't get bored, and second, a mix of longer and slower and shorter and ...

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?

Did my first hour session. Not going to set the world alight but for myself very happy.

1 hour, managed 12,300 meters - wanted to keep it under 2.30 / 500 and managed average of 2.26 so happy 😃

Thanks for reading,

Neil

Re: New buyer looking for advice

As a new convert to exercise and losing weight whilst improving my core and energy levels I have to say the concept 2 rower is the best piece of equipment I have ever bought. A bold statement but for me the rowing action seems natural and easy to get along with. After nearly a month I have rowed 170...

Re: Long journey ahead ......

Another update on my progress. It’s a month since I started my journey and I’ve loved it and the sensation of rowing and knowing I am getting fitter. How fitter is a question I wanted to test myself over the last few days and I have found out. I am not into chasing personal best times but they are a...

Re: Significantly overweight - Rowing technique

Great result 👍

I’m in the same boat, using rowing and diet to get rid of a few pounds.
Good to see your regime is working.

Neil.

Re: Long journey ahead ......

Another update guys. Still enjoying my rowing, getting sweaty and losing weight as well. I’ve now lost a total of 4.5 kilos, around 9 pounds in old money 😉 since starting this about 2/3 weeks ago and I’ve noticed a few things. My breathing is improving and has gone from struggling to breathe when ex...

Re: Long journey ahead ......

Quick update after a week with the rower. I have lost a total of 6 pounds, roughly 3 kilos - so very impressed and just goes to show what regular exercise and making small changes can do .... :) Total rowing metres is 58k for the week and I have burnt off around 2500 calories according to the erg da...

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?

Not going to win many contests here but for me after rowing nearly a week this a culmination of my efforts. 2k row in 8.58.1 - I so desperately wanted to get under 9 minutes and achieved it :D Logged and registered on concept2 website as well, got a total metres rowed of 38,346 metres. Quick questio...

Re: Heart monitor

You can connect any ANT+ HRM to the PM5. This includes the cheapest Garmin HRMs. When you have connected it to the PM5, your heart rate will show up on the PM5's screen and in Ergdata (which I suppose you use now on your phone or Ipad), and it will be recorded together with the other training data....

Re: Long journey ahead ......

I agree with the previous comments and well done on buying an erg and your progress so far. Mix up some slower rates 18-20 and 24-26 to get used to the difference and I'd recommend rowing for as long as you feel like you can do in one session. As distances progress maybe break them up into interval...

Heart monitor

Hi guys, Just got a C2 with PM5 and now I've got the bug (and haven't died yet due to the exercise!!) I'm thinking of getting a heart rate monitor to maximise my fat burning zone - which is my current main objective, weight loss. So a couple of questions, what do you recommend as a (cheapish) but ro...

Re: Long journey ahead ......

Thanks guys for the heads up and links. just following on from yesterday, did a gentle ...ish row of 20 minutes, at 22/24 strokes per minute. Re: What Training Have You Done Today?

As a beginner, I assembled the rower, did a gentle ... ish 10 minute row, rowed around 2k in distance. Then finished a few hours later with playing the fish game, around 5 minutes. After which I made a coffee and looked at the shiny new black finish of the rower and downloaded the app. Going for a p...
