Re: Dynamic C2 vs. the "D", musing of Recent Dynamic Purchaser

Thank you for posting this interesting study. I've recently purchased a Dynamic C2, and am adjusting to the differences between the Dynamic and the static. I am noticing that my HR is significantly higher on a Dynamic at the same pace on a static, and almost certainly I won't be as fast on the Dynam...

Re: Losing fingernails during long rows

Thanks everyone for responding. I suppose there is something unique about how I grip the handles and/or my physiology that causes the fingernail issue. Strange. Lance, I watched your youtube video - thanks for sharing it. Very helpful and interesting to hear of others' experiences, especially for su...

Losing fingernails during long rows

I'm wondering if anyone has experienced damaged fingernails after long rows. During a 100k row back in May, I ended up losing one nail and significantly damaging two more, evidently due to the grip pressure of holding the handle causing inflammation and bleeding under the nails. Similarly, I lost a ...

Re: New Personal Best! Brag About That New Pb!

How did you manage not to hurt your fingernails? I lost one fingernail completely, significantly damaged another with minor damage to two more, after a 100k row. A year prior I lost a fingernail after a marathon row. I'm wondering if there's anything special folks to do prep their hands for maratho...

Re: New Personal Best! Brag About That New Pb!

Sometimes think it's better to just go for a long goal on the day rather than fret about it for weeks. Yep. With something like a 100km you can't just fit it in whenever you want so I had no choice, not least as my 12hr charity challenge was rapidly approaching and I needed to start tapering. If yo...

I use a pair of cycling shoes... No cleats obviously
I tried cycling shoes, but I found the rounded heel wouldn't grab the foot trap and my feet were sliding out of the straps. Did you have that problem, and if so, how did you fix it?

Re: Feet Position: High or Low for Mechanical Advantage?

I'm fairly new to the erg machine, but having experimented with different foot positions, I find I generate more power with my feet as high up as I can get them. 5'9", shoe size 42 (8.5 - 9). If I put my feet in the usually recommended position with the strap higher up on my shoes (foot lower down) ...
