Re: What Training Have You Done Today?
It has been a while, probably 2 or 3 years since posting and being anything resembling fit. Nevertheless, each month I have studiously done the CTC for the FFs and between 10 and 50k erg work or OTW in small boats. Not much to write about. Last month was different, for some reason I got stuck into ...

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?
Holiday challenge day 2... ...thought I would wind back the clock and try a 1k pyramid, i.e. 100, 200,300.... 1000, and back down on 1r. What's the phrase - something about writing cheques your body can't cash.. I had burnt all my matches after doing the 1000 and binned coming back down again  ...

Cheers for sharing Paul - the pictures are fab - looks like a great place to row.

Re: Best seat pad?
Interesting thread! When I first got my own erg and started putting in the km's started I did get a sore behind. I bought the C2 pad but never really got on with it and relegated it to the bottom of a drawer and never used anything since. My son however dug out the pad and uses it every time on the ...

Nothing much this week - one session in the garage on the erg where I changed plan about 3x, then boat club gym session last night. The infamous snakes and ladders session... a giant sized board.. teams of 2... 10 different exercises numbered 0-9. What ever number you end up on after moving your gia...

Re: New world record ?
Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games sweeps rowing will be 1,500 meters at Long Beach Marine Stadium. Must really mess with race pacing, training and seat selection. Optimizing for a 6 min 2K is not the same as for a 4 min 1500. That's going to be interesting to see what changes that brings in terms of t...

Welcome back Dino. That sounds like it was a great day Cheers! I see the usual suspects are still crushing it :D Well done! Sounds like a Bucket List item. :D Cam Buchan did it three years ago and posted an interesting 21-minute video of it. Thanks very much. That video was the main cause of me bei...

Re: Bantam sculls
Thanks Dino. Good info. I'm a senior novice recreational rower. The Peterborough Rowing Club is on the same water as the Trent University club - a long stretch of backwater off the Otonobee River. The river itself can be used during the summer and fall when the current is slow. Feels far from the c...

Re: Bantam sculls
I generally use a mix of Concept2 Smoothie2, Big Blade or Bantams. The club I row at over the summer season is recreational and all the boats and oars pretty much set up the same so can jump into any boat with any pair of oars. The big blades/smoothies are all set up 288/88, with the bantam having a...
