Re: thoughts on progress?
Thanks for the reply! i never thought about freeing the wattage per stroke mindset when it comes to intervals - i was under the impression when i first started out that anything in the high 20s or 30s was a no-no but i suppose that only applies to getting the technique right. i guess i'm having a ha...

Re: thoughts on progress?
For training low rate is fine, but testing is free. Those 500 reps should be 30 or higher. 5k 26/28 10k 25//27 There is much much more if you get going without the restriction. Rowing fast is about training a good stroke and being able to use that stroke free rate. Your rating extremely restricted,...

Re: I think I'm starting to get it...
I'm not sure what you mean in Q1. The pace is measured by the spinning of the flywheel so if there's more drag it slows down quicker and it will take more power to get it back to a faster speed, and the contrary when there is lower drag. Your pace will be slower due to you rowing with less power, e...

Re: Why I am not loosing weight?
as Jmac said, diet. you can't outwork a bad diet. seriously. the mentality that you need to change your workouts in order to lose weight is the same reason why so many new year resolutioners quit the gym, not too long after they join. if you stop exercising, know what your estimated calories in vs c...

Re: first time posting - still trying to figure things out
Regarding the handle pulling you back to the catch position: That will probably not happen. What should happen when you row strapless is: You start by making a firm drive with your legs, and then continue by bending a bit backwards in the hip. Now your whole body is travelling backwards on the rail...

Re: first time posting - still trying to figure things out
Your stats line indicates that you have done HM, FM, and “ultramarathon” distance. Clearly you have the aerobic fitness and stamina to move your bodyweight back and forth on the slide. But your high rate “spinning” approach is producing on average only 4.4 watts per stroke. At 200 lbs. and assuming...
