Re: Is there some way to hold a phone on a PM3?
Concept2 and others (ebay, Amazon etc) sell phone holders. C2 looks like it only $1 now. Shipping will be more than that, so maybe grab a few other things? Elastic cord, chain? It puts your phone on top of the PM3. If you happen to have an Android, get the cord and you can run Ergdata (have to find ...

Re: How to downgrade PM5 firmware
Could it be that the phone the OP uses to connect to the PM5 stays in range after rowing and maintains connection? Hence, keeping the PM5 on.
I would suggest ensuring the PM5 is turned off post row and making sure the phone is disconnected. See if this changes battery life.

I was going to suggest any of the interlocking type of mats.
Pieces are usually about a foot or so square and you can make about any dimension you want.
Carpet runner does seem like a brilliant idea.

Re: anyone need a PM5 hardware version 511?
I'm not totally familiar with all of the PM5 nuances as I am still using a PM3.
Is this upgradeable to most recent firmware?
Actually, either way, if not spoken for yet and shipping to 92630 USA is not too bad, I'll go for it.

Rowing the Gordon River
A big row in Tasmania. I'd like to see video of them in the rapids.

Re: PM3 vs PM5 - Pros and cons?
Allan, Thanks for that info. Good for anyone thinking of the PM3 to PM5 upgrade about the arm differences. I'd be fine with an outside wiring with zip ties holding the cable or something. I'd also be fine with drilling a hole to make it cleaner. As far as my log, I currently use a wired connection t...

Re: PM3 vs PM5 - Pros and cons?
I am also considering a PM3 to PM5 upgrade. Do they fit on the same arm? Or does the PM5 require a different one? You may need to buy the retrofit kit - call Concept2 and ask. The retrokit supplies a new arm. With the arm for a PM2 you'd have to attack it with a Dremel. My question was about PM3 to...

Re: Quick Release for Handle?
I have both the wooden and plastic handles.
Have done most of my rowing on the wooden one and still adapting to the new.
I also have a couple of other training ideas for my erg.

Quick Release for Handle?
Has anyone come up with a quick release for a Concept2 Handle? I've been trying to find a carabiner or similar to go between the u-bolt on the handle and the chain end. It looks like the wire diameter needs to be about .25 inch or smaller, but all the items I've checked this size do not have a large...

Re: What are your goals for the 2020/2021 season?
I got my C2 about a year and a half ago. Mostly to supplement other training. In the first year I only did about 40-50k, usually 1 or 2k after an indoor bike training session. I did the April Fool's Challenge and added 120k to that. My 2k best is like 9:54. I'd like that to get far lower, maybe well...

But it still takes me 15 min to pull the erg out and set everything up.
Might as well row for at least a bit to make it worth it.
