Re: Heartrate with Ergdata & Apple Watch and Apple Fitness
Your Apple Watch will only transmit HR data to 1 Bluetooth connection at a time (technically it can do more, but you would need to write some special software code to overcome these OS and app limitations). This single HR connection is controlled by the active app on your iWatch, and you can only ru...

Re: Real time loop messaging
Another question - why do some avatars stay motionless on the start line or other places on the loop for hours? Would have thought that once the pm5 goes to sleep after a few minutes they would automatically be disconnected? I swear I see some avatars motionless for days… Most likely they entered t...

Re: Amazfit Smartwatch and PM5
Have not tried one. How often does it push an HR update? How does it compare to say a Polar chest strap? Thanks

Re: Polar H10 and strava. Connection problems.
Are you using it for erg rowing? Your erg (PM4 & PM5) should recognize and connect to it as a HR device. Then if you sync your erg data to Strava via ErgData it should flow through. Strava does direct connect to Polar devices as well.

Re: ErgRace / online between locations
What's your preference for connecting all the ergs? (a) Spaghetti cable the ergs to a PC running ErgRace (b) Bluetooth to each erg using the ErgRace app (a) Gives you local control and it's easier for participants, as all they have to do is jump on an erg and row. But that's about it - no multi-site...

Re: Which Concept2 rower is this?
Model D. Be careful online - lots of fakes and knockoff versions out there, some blatantly advertised as a Concept2.

Re: Ergdata workout gang programming
No it’s not possible to programs multiple ergs simultaneously, but there are workarounds and ways to solve the problem. Can I ask what you are looking to achieve by doing this (eg problem to solve)? For example, is the intent to have everyone do the same workout on their ergs? +Simultaneously? +With...

Re: Waterproof cover UK
I keep my C2 Mod D on my roof deck year round (Massachusetts, USA) with a standard C2 cover and the monitor wrapped in plastic bags. It’s survived torrential downpours, blazing sun, high wind and snow blizzards. The cover eventually weathers and cracks but the plastic bags maintain waterproof protec...

Re: Longest Continual Row Record attempt
Ergaddict - Thank you for the thoughtful response and forgive me for not appreciating the full scope of what you have planned. I am glad to hear you have both support and regular breaks designed to give your body recovery time. I'm not trying to discourage you from doing something to push your menta...

Re: Longest Continual Row Record attempt
I would STRONGLY recommend you have medical support monitoring you during this endeavor. Unless you have a genetic advantage - and very few people do - there are any number of physical maladies that can occur. This is a vanity goal not something any organization should sanction. At the least, you wi...

Re: ERGdata and Stairmaster HIIT
Sorry - Just saw this response, but will admit I no longer use the Stairmaster HIIT rower. I recall that it had a Bluetooth button in the top right of the console. When you press that, a Bluetooth icon would flash on the screen at the top. You would then have to go into the Bluetooth connection menu...

Re: Steady state pacing
Height and weight (obviously muscle, not fat) are key factors for a rower. I wouldn't call it talent, I would call it better body predisposition/prerequisite. Taller is better for erging/rowing. I've yet to see that proven wrong. Is anyone under 5' 9" (1.75m) pulling sub-6s? As a member of the 'ave...

Re: Calluses/Blisters: one thing that worked for me
I have found foam cycling handlebar wrap to work very well. Wrap it around the handles from outside to in with a 50% overlap. Cut and tape the end.
