Re: New Personal Best! Brag About That New Pb!
that is a super strong 10k - will be much faster though once you can rate up and drop the DF @Bishop I have to agree with Lindsayh... I'm around 104KG and my 10K PB of 38:55.5 was done at DF 145 / 28 SPM. The higher SPM spreads out the load but requires you to do the work with less recovery time. Y...

Re: New Personal Best! Brag About That New Pb!
:D Yeah your properly right, but none the less, I think it benefits my technique. And also, does it feel like a good muscle workout, my upper body especially shoulder and lower neck shows visible muscle building. My leg not so much, not because I don’t use them, but they are already build from my Mo...

Re: New Personal Best! Brag About That New Pb!
On my third true record attempt I made the 10k Sub40min. And now with an even lower heart rate. My technique is getting better and I manage to get above the 200 Watts on each stroke. My S/M is quite low, and I think I have to work on some intervals if I want to improve in this area. As for the drag ...

Re: New Personal Best! Brag About That New Pb!
I have now had my rower one month, and I am quite happy with my effort, I have had 20 rows and a total of 182k so fare. As previous stated my goal is to get sub 7 for 2k. I still got a long way to go. But yesterday I did some kind of a record attempt on a 10k session. some kind, because the row was ...

Re: Pete Plan Thread
Hi I have just started on this plan, I am a fairly new rower and perhaps this plan is a bit to rough for me, but anyway I am going for it. I like the fact that each workout is not too time demanding. One hour or less each day should definitely be durable, the biggest struggle is to choose the rowing...

Re: New Personal Best! Brag About That New Pb!
Great! thank you both of you.
To night I will go for 4x2000m with low SPM. My goal is something like 22 SPM with a 2.0 pace. I believe it should be dorable compared to my 2k posted earlier.

Re: New Personal Best! Brag About That New Pb!
Yeah Sub7 in 2 month could be a stretch :) First please forgive for the following comment, it is kind of off topic. Should I create my own thread or is there a more relevant thread for training advise? Last night I went for a steady 50 minutes session focusing on keeping same pace and SPM. Getting 2...

Re: New Personal Best! Brag About That New Pb!
Thank you, much appreciated!
I will without doubt work on my technique. And inspired by your initial comment work towards posting a sub7 2k in this thread before 2019.

Re: New Personal Best! Brag About That New Pb!
Yeah I see that I have to manage my pace much better. There is some of the terms you use i do not fully understand. "Say you rate 30, 300 watt, 10 watt per second. On longer rows you keep that strokestrenght of 10 watt but you lower the rating, so you have more recovery between strokes." By that do ...

Re: New Personal Best! Brag About That New Pb!
That's a great pep talk, thank you! As for the SPM, you are proberly right, but I do not think that I am quite there yet, my average haert rate for the 2k was 176 and Watt was 219. At the last 200m I tried to up the speed, but I was quite worn out :) https://scontent.fosl1-1.fna.fbcdn.net/v/t1.15752...

Re: New Personal Best! Brag About That New Pb!
Hi Everybody I am new to this forum and to rowing. I just wanted to share my first record with you all. I am 36 years old, lives in Norway and weighs about 100kg. My go to sport is Mountain Biking, but since I am tired of losing my form during the winter, I decided to start with rowing, why I just r...
