Update: I found the physical link that I needed to switch on the older, working PM3 changed it to model C. Worked just fine! So now I know the issue is definitely with the loose socket on the newer PM3 and will send this off to get repaired which should do the trick.

Loose or cracked tach pickup socket on the monitor. What version of PM3 is it ? Look in the product ID screen for a date code and serial number. The older PM3's required an actual physical link to be moved inside the monitor as well to shift between Model D and Model C. How old is the monitor firmw...
