Re: Why did you stop using RowPro ?

I stopped for several months. This was a big mistake on my part. Once I stopped I got lazy and gained back 41 lbs. that I had lost. This was during the pandemic period. I went to the doctor and my A1C had climbed from 5.5 to 6.7. Now I had to increase my meds again. So now I am back to using Row Pro...

Re: Conect to other Ergs via Web

I agree that Row Pro by digital rowing is the solution you are looking for. I have been rowing with others over the internet on RowPro for several years. Application requires a computer and it does the job. It is less than perfect but I can usually find others to join my sessions.

Re: Need people to row with! Using Rowpro.

Lately there has been more rowers as weather gets colder and COVID restricts group activity. I typically row mornings here in NY (GMT-5) or 10am eastern. In GMT that is 3pm/1500 hours and started setting up 30 minute sessions that typically bring in 3-9 rowers. As for scheduling the program should b...

Re: RowPro 5.7

I am using RP 5,6 on my laptop and have no issues. The only problem was if the screen goes to sleep I get dropped. Simple fix was to adjust windows sleep settings. The sessions have been fun and there are plenty of participants. I have not tried 5.7 yet so I will wait to see how others do with it ba...

Optimal Drag Piece Based

Ok I am sure it is here somewhere but I tried searching to get some ideas about how to set drag on short vs. long piece work. Short intense sessions between 500 and 2k is it better to go with a higher DF? My problem on short fast pieces is my stroke rate is harder to control. On Longer pieces I typi...

Re: RowPro disconnecting at online rowing screen

I had a similar problem. RowPro would drop me every time I tried to row in an on-line session. Rowing standalone was fine. Finally I did a total reset of my PM5 and it fixed the problem. I also re-updated my firmware on the PM5 after the total reset. On the C2 website there are instructions on how t...

Re: Any Concept 2 owners use RowPro?

I use RowPro for rowing with others. It keeps things interesting and fun. It is motivating to row with others and encourages you to try a little harder. For me I could care less if I come in last or behind. Now they have an option for a permanent license instead of monthly. The only time you need to...

Re: Long journey ahead ......

Based on forum suggestions I just purchased a Wahoo Tickr. I have been rowing actively for about a year now and after trying a Fitbit I now realize that my goal of weight loss can be optimized by managing heart rate in my workouts. Up to now the sessions have largely been based on how I feel without...

Acceptable logging of HM FM 100k 200k

I have completed a HM this season and plan to do a FM in a couple of weeks. The question is what is considered acceptable for completing the piece in terms of rest periods? I was able to do the HM straight through in about an hour and 45 minutes. However the notion of sitting on the erg for almost 4...

Re: start the Fat Feighting :/

This is my advice. Forget about fancy things. Keep things simple. You have to do things you can carry on for life while feeling comfortable with them. Example about dieting: Instead of intermitent fasting, miracle shakes, or whatever diet you can think of...Stop drinking anything but water while ea...

Re: Significantly overweight - Rowing technique

It is great that you are working on the weight by rowing. It does sound like you are putting a lot of time into the effort. I was in the same situation about a year ago. Had not rowed in 15 years and was 285lbs. Found out I was diabetic at that time. I decided rowing was a good exercise as the docto...

Re: Training for 2k in 2 weeks need advice

I like the idea of doing 500 and rest 2 min negative splits tearing off 1 second each time. I think you are right that I can cut back on some time. This week the focus will be on speed.
