It may be possible for a few people, but for me I see no real point in that for a 5K, 6Ks seem more important from my standpoint. Mainly because i'm a junior and we dont do 5Ks, just 6ks.

What I like to do is something like 6x500s with 1:30 rest and as you get closer to that 2k date, bring the rest down a bit. It seems to work for me and some other people.
