I got to try the new RP prototype at the US Masters nationals last year. It is a good machine and seems to have some attributes that may make it slightly better for OTW training. My first impressions were that if RP had a good monitor, (there was not one on the prototype) they might give C2 a run fo...

In answer to your questions Roland: the rowperfect did not show up until late in the regatta and so it would be unfair to say that either machine got more or less attention. what I would say was once the Rowperfect was going people were really interested. I get the impression that the Rowperfect is ...

It sounds like Val needs to take on the CPR in Oregon. The CPR is a 115 mile extreme distance rowing race down the Willamette river, starting in the town of Corvallis, Oregon, and finishing at the dock of the Willamette rowing club in Portland Oregon. The racing takes two days and just may be the lo...

I got to try the new E at the masters National regatta in Seattle this weekend. the PM4 is cool and the wireless racing works well. we had fun doing 100m sprints against each other. There is no difference in the machines other than the E is higher and has a fancy chain. The big deal was that 100 fee...

I am not a big advocate of gloves OTW and generally feel that gloves dampen the feel one needs to take good strokes and maintain clean blade work. With that disclaimer here are my two cents on gloves OTW. Several months ago I competed in the CPR ultra distance rowing race from Corvallis to Portland,...

Well I think this thread is now dead. clearly Dwayne has not vanished as he is now posting again. I think the whole betting thing was tried on the old forum and that didnt go anywhere either. We could get into the "will Dwayne race" argument all over again but really thats been debated to death too....

pauls; Yes I was racing, and from my angle sitting in the rowing shell, floating around all the other boats just past the finish it seemed close to me. I was in the Willamette RC boat that lost by less than a second to Pocock in the mixed 40+ eight. Total heart break as we were up 5 seats entering t...

Thanks for posting those articles! Opening Day is one of the best regattas I have ever been to. This year the Russians won by just a seat or so it was very exciting! There is nothing like hammering down the cut with the scream of all the people on both sides in your ears and the brass band going at ...

I am sorry to raise the issue of Dwayne's times again but his new 10k time in this months CTC has left me in total disbelief and once again he has just gone top of the leader board with his last attempt for the month. I believe there are times when you have to stand up and be counted and be prepare...

Just my 2cents..but I would agree with citroen on this. I have found that from time to time after doing an increased level of training I get similar pains. 120k in a few weeks from nothing is a big change for your body so make sure you are taking it easy. Playing with the foot level seems to work be...

OK: there is a reason most libel suits are in the UK...its becuase the law is LESS restrictive. Second this whole lawsuit crap is just silly. as a lawyer myself I have to say this "you can sue for that" crap is exactly what gives us (lawyers) a bad name. If Dwyane wants to sue let him do it, lets no...

Hey chad I have to say I am very impressed by your times, as I was with DA's also. I had a hard time believing anyone could break 6mins at all let alone a master. I row with a bunch of realy realy fit masters and many of us are 30 seconds to a minute slower than you. Several of these guys train alot...
