Re: Pete Plan Thread
Can,t tell really, but don,t think so. Concept2 has a spinning fan, the rower herself will create the resisance. If there is no fan thats works differently. I don,t know your machine so can,t give a good answer sorry. I agree with Henry (HJS) on this. I'd suggest trying it on a higher resistance an...

Re: Pete Plan Thread
Thanks Dangerscouse and hjs, there was me thinking I was too slow! I'll try lengthening and moving the trunk back more and slowing down the recovery. The resistance is a simple dial from 1-10, I have it at 3 at the moment, would I be better to up the resistance then to go slower?

Re: Pete Plan Thread
I was planning on doing the first week of the BPP a few times while I build a basic level of fitness up as coming from a very low starting point - is this sensible or should I just bite the bullet and stick to the plan? My missus did that as she really struggled to do 5k without stopping. She repea...

Re: Pete Plan Thread
I'd be interested in the answer to that too IdahoMike. Good work on your first 5k! ETA thanks rascott, I was too slow typing :) Ok just did my 6 x 500m / 2min rest in 17:31, faster by about 45 seconds than the last time I did it. I was planning on doing the first week of the BPP a few times while I ...

Re: Pete Plan Thread
Welcome back and good job on your 5k for this week. I think you've got the right impression of the difference between the long steady state rows and the interval days. You do push yourself a bit more on those intervals since they are designed with rest breaks. The key is to not come out too fast an...

Re: Pete Plan Thread
A forced week's break due to illness but back on the rower last night and 5km done with 2mins shaved off my last 5km row. Still way slower (33:12) than all of you guys but slowly getting there! It's intervals tonight and am I right in thinking I should be looking to go 'faster and harder' on the int...

Re: Pete Plan Thread
Thanks for the all welcomes, encouraging words and explanations of terms - the numbers posted make a bit more sense now :) The rower I have is a cheap JLL R200 but at the moment it's getting me going and I'll upgrade to a Concept 2 once I know I'm sticking with this....early days but at the moment I...

Re: Pete Plan Thread
Hi first post on here so a brief intro....I'm about to hit 50 this year and am a very over weight and unfit female, although have dogs so regularly go out for good beach/forest walks. I haven't done any forced exercise for about 25 years and the weight has gradually crept up over that time! I got a ...
