Re: What Training Have You Done Today?
Week 2 day 1 on the PDP (RowAlong) 2k plan...30 mins at 20. Pace target 2k + 18 so 2:10 for me. Following this plan which is based on the PP but has pacing targets which I find more useful...recent test was 7:28 and am basing my paces on this. Will test again in 3 weeks or so https://imagizer.images...

Re: Relatively Weak 2km Time
Plenty of 7 minute plus people on here!It seems like everyone on these boards rows a 6:34 or 6:43 or something.
(interesting thread, thanks)

The maths was working out a target 60 min split based on a recent 10k pb ( see up thread). The maths is simple

Re: 1 hour test for first time - what split and rate?
thanks guys, your advice on pacing was spot on. Managed 2:03 with the help of a little increased rate in the last 3 or 4 minutes. Felt mostly OK until about 10 minutes to go when i had to dig in a bit and focus on technique. Gives me a split to beat next time. https://imagizer.imageshack.com/img922/...

Re: 1 hour test for first time - what split and rate?
I would have said 10k plus 2 secs is closer if you stick with r26. I always looked at 30min plus 3 sec for 60min. My 30 min needs work - it's a 2:03 split whereas my 10K is 2:00.3. I am 62nd percentile for the 30 mins and 74th for the 10k. 75th percentile for the 1 hour would be 2:00.8 so i'll aim ...

thanks Henry much appreciated. I prefer the longer distances (compared to the 2k) but I'm not looking forward to this!

1 hour test for first time - what split and rate?
hi guys I'm doing the Pete Plan and might try a 1 hour test as my hard distance row this week. I've been cycling through the ranking distances trying to get PBs each time. My 10K PB from November is 40:06 (2:00.3 ave split) - this was at an average stroke rate of 26. Based on that, any thoughts on a...

Re: Confused Beginner - pace, spm, steady state and heart rate
hi...agree with all the above. The basic principle is to get as good as you can technique wise at a nice steady "training rate" - this for me is around 20. I find 18 a bit too laborious. If you can get your splits down as far as possible by being powerful and efficient at 20 rate then all you need t...

Re: Pete Plan Thread
aftre completing the BPP about 2 years ago and having a few go's at the full PP I'm back for another attempt. I'd like to try and stick with it for the rest of the year with a view to getting my 2k time improved. I think my technique and fitness has improved so I've decided to pick up where I left o...

Re: Asensei has added more free content
I like it, but don't use it often at the moment since I am training for a full marathon row. Doing lots of long, slow rows at the moment. My biggest gripe about Asensei is the inability for me to control the expected pace of my workouts. I would like to be able to dial in my desired starting pace f...

Re: Heptathlon
I'm doing these, one per day in order. Got a 10k PB yesterday which I was pleased with. Treating the 20 min today as a recovery row, maybe rate capped at 22 or something. Nice to have a bit of variety.
