I have both machines. The WR you bought is probably the monitor series IV. On the Yahoo group forum one of the users tried both machines and came up with about a 12% difference. This means that if you did a 5k in 20 minutes on the WR it would take about 22:24 on the Concept 2. Your times are much cl...

Woohoo! Broke 180, weight going down again...
Stuck for nearly two months at 180 I was going bananas trying to break through. After tracking my weight daily I noticed a curious pattern of gaining during the week and losing on the weekend. So I copied what I did during the weekend and instead of gaining I stabilized, hit 179.5 on Friday and 177....

Inches are great but I don't buy into the theory that if you only lose inches you are fine. I have lost a few inches myself yet my body mass is 29, my belly is way too large and I am still stuck at 180. I think my body can defy the laws of physics. Yesterday: 1,900 calories consumed, 1,100 lost thro...

So many blisters...
Been rowing for months without a problem. One day I accidentally got some moisturizing cream on my hand (I don't use the stuff, was tidying up) and rowed shortly after that. Developed a nasty blister on that spot so I switched to gloves. The sports store didn't have paddling gloves so I used water s...

I do 5-18K non-stop also at the highest resistance. Drink before and you should be good for 40-45 minutes. On long rows I grab a bottle and swig some quickly enough to lose only 15-20 meters. Not much you can do about sweat although I wear those special fast drying light shirts which helps to reduce...

Read an article recently about breaking up workouts, seems to actually work. I analyzed a few weeks of weight loss and pinpointed the problem. Invariably during the week there was weight gain and on weekends, weight loss. Sedentary job, felt tired coming home and seemed to eat more during work days....

"I went from 260 to 185 pounds, losing about 2.8 lbs per week for the first 65 lbs lost, then more slowly for the last 10. Now I have been level for a few months at 185 - having reached a point where I feel I should be, and backing off SLIGHTLY on the rigidity of the diet and the amount of exercise ...

Add me to that question lol. Like you I wanted to lose about 60 lbs. Dropped 23 pretty quickly then got stuck for months, still struggling. This despite an hour a day vigorous erging. I think my body is so used to rowing that it doesn't lose weight as fast, but that doesn't make sense, a calorie is ...
