If you have the PM5 could you connect both the Ergdata app and the Fenix watch at the same time or doesn't it allow this?
The only other solution would be to manually upload to Garmin connect on a PC I would guess

Re: Apple Watch
I ordered an ANT+ Pod for transfering the live heartbeat from Apple Watch to the PM5. Hope it will arrive tomorrow. Could you describe what you are doing here as I am a little confused by your description? One of the downsides of the Apple watch is it doesn't follow the standards for bluetooth (hen...

Re: Best heart rate strap for Ski Erg?
Just an interesting finding on HR - watches with HR have generally struggled with HR at the wrist because of the action/load going through them - Polar OH1 does better by moving measurements to the arm but even then I found it sometimes struggle The OH1 suggests for swimming to have it on the temple...

Re: Favorite rowing books?
I agree - really enjoyed True Blue. But you need to realise that its Dan T's version of the story. The stroke's comment was that he didn't recognise it as what went on. The Americans I'm sure would dis it. But it is a great book. The Yanks at Oxford is a "response" to True Blue written by Ali Gill ...

Re: BikeErg + Apple TV (Zwift)?
Have you tried this? This may be when using a OC rather than an Apple TV however as that definitely works

EDIT: reported here connected to an iPad so an apple TV should be possible

Re: What evidence exists that lighter shells are faster?
In 2006 Stephen Seiler made a nice powerpoint survey of One Hundred and Fifty Years of Rowing Faster . Pages 31-32 deal with drag forces on the boat. There is a formula at the bottom half of page 32 for the effect of boat weight on speed. In fact, it's the lumped weight of boat, rowers and oars tha...

Re: iPad mount option
There is one on ebay although it puts the screen lower than the PM5 and worringly in range of the handle should it fly out of your hands EDIT: having looked closer at the official one it looks like they put the tablet in the same place https://www.ebay.co.uk/i/184416039727?chn=ps&norover=1&mkevt=1&m...

Re: finding the right human at Concept2
That is good to know, I wonder if its an update from C's end for the bike only or if the PM5 for rowers are able to do the same?

Re: finding the right human at Concept2
Hey all! I've had a brief discussion with someone at Firstbeat Technologies about supporting the Concept2 rower for Firstbeat's VO2max calculations . They currently support running, walking, and cycling with a power meter - activities fraught with challenges like inclines, headwinds - and the C2 ha...

Re: Tips on set/stability
If its balance in a larger boat youre after (like in a 4 or an 8), then get them out in pairs and/or singles, nothing sorts technique out like small boat handling skills. In general I would suggest doing a number of drills, for example pausing excercises where you pause at different points in the re...

Re: New iPhone app Concept2 Indoor Rower: "ErgData"
It would be nice if the app allowed it to show the Heart rate taken from a bluetooth HR belt like the Wahoo BlueHR I currently use the NK app with the Bluetooth HR belt when I am out on the water and would love to also use the app when on the erg, but training to specific heart rates is very importa...

In the UK the best places to get kit are from Crewroom (JL's distributer in the UK), Godfrey, Powerhouse, New wave
I think there are others but those are the main ones

Re: OTW Stroke Rate and Heart Rate Monitoring
very new, I think it only appeared yesterday! Its good to see NK start to innovate as TBH other than the XL their product range did seem to stagnate for a while, however I do think its a shame they havent yet brought out a GPS unit which allows you to sync with a PC to download .GPX/.TCX files, bein...

Re: OTW Stroke Rate and Heart Rate Monitoring
One solution may have just been announced, the NK Speedcoach GPS has now been released with a heart rate feature http://www.nkhome.com/store/product.php?productid=16455&cat=248&page=1 Downsides are that it doesnt have a PC interface (so you cant download your sessions after the outing or create work...
