Re: ErgData not syncing to Logbook
Having spoken to concept2 technical support the fix (yes, it works for me) was to logout on the ergdata app and log back in again. However those entries that are unsynced when you log out get lost when you do that, so do it quickly once you observe this problem. You can still, of course, recreate th...

Re: ErgData not syncing to Logbook
StevePDX. I'm also now getting the same issue. Has yours started syncing again since you posted? The first time mine failed to sync was 26-Feb-2023. Was syncing OK on the 25th. Perhaps coincidentally this was after I entered the WRICH 2023 from home (which bypasses the ERGDATA and connect by USB to ...

Re: Cross Team Challenge - Discussion Thread
Somehow not available to me (when logged in) as it's back to the monthly challenge and now closed for entries.
I did do it in 5:49.5, which was faster than last year. So probably no need to memorialise it with an entry.

Re: Hydration and cooling, esp. during a long TT
When exercising (and at other times too) most of your water loss will be in your breath. As you burn up your energy reserves you produce water vapour and CO2 and breathe it out. You don't lose that much additional water through your skin, though it does help cool you, which is helpful. 22degC sounds...

Re: Sub 7 Indoor Rowing Club (UK)
Susan , must be very frustrating trying to exercise at home without any equipment. Presumably your hip prevents you running? I think quite a few of the year and last couple of months Competitions will be biased because many like yourself being unable to complete the season. At least you beat Mike i...

Re: Sub 7 Indoor Rowing Club (UK)
As a side note on that - you'll know as a regular competitor/winner - do we in the UK actually get a "medal" as advertised in the competition pages or is that US people only? I've never won a medal before so I've been waiting by the postbox everyday like its my birthday and I'm 10 again but nothing...

Re: Sub 7 Indoor Rowing Club (UK)
As promised had another go at the 1000m today. Aimed to hold 1:57 pace for the first 200m (which I failed to do on my last attempt on the 8th) and then see if I had anything left in the last 200m. This time all went to plan for the first 800m, but I found it much harder to speed up in the last 200m:...

Re: Sub 7 Indoor Rowing Club (UK)
Mike , compared with me you are certainly working hard - and that's a great result in the 10k. I've had some good rows thislast month but just not very many. On 24 February pulled 6770m for the Sub 7 30R20. df was 135. Average spm was 19. I always find it takes me a while to work out how to row fas...

Re: Half marathon - Feedback on pacing strategy
Well done on your first attempt. What we often find is that our best pace will vary as the log of the distance covered. The slope of the line varies between individuals, and also over time, though is likely to be pretty consistent over a season. How to find your predicted results from your two best ...

At many competitions you are expected to be able to do a 500m 3-4 hours after an all out 2k and can often row a SB: this is what I did at the Welsh, British and English IRC this year. I have been to some competitions when they scheduled a 2k, a 1000m and a 500m less than 2 hours apart and still rowe...

Re: Sub 7 Indoor Rowing Club (UK)
Susan , best wishes for your race on Saturday. You certainly have done the prep. As a matter of interest (to me at least) what drag factor are you using these days? Mike , I expect you're back rowing again after your rest. Just wonder how you know you can do 10 IR1 reps at sub-1:40 pace but not 12 ...

Re: Sub 7 Indoor Rowing Club (UK)
They didn't provide 100m splits in Paris for the 500m, however there is a pace graph. Reading off this and doing a bit of arithmetic my splits were: 1:53.7, 1:48.7 1:49.1, 1:49.3, 1:50.0. So I was a bit slow off the start then otherwise faster than when I did my SB 1:49.5 at home.. Back on the ergo ...

whoops bad editing there
- the last two paragraphs are superfluous (and having been corrected above are wrong to boot).

Re: Sub 7 Indoor Rowing Club (UK)
I'm safely back from Paris. Despite Storm Ciara my flight from Paris CDG to Exeter was only 20 minutes late and although there was turbulence en-route the landing was not worse than usual for a Bombardier turboprop. The World Championships in Paris were pretty well run. The French President of World...
