Re: Bumpy new seat roller
All in all, replacing the seat rollers was unsatisfying. That's unfortunate. To give you one additional data point (that probably won't help you a whole lot), I replaced the upper seat rollers & bearings on the Model E at my gym at work and didn't have any complications. (the original rollers were ...

Re: Help a girl out with buying a rower
Assuming the usage on the rowers is proportional to the age I'd get the D, if the C has a lot less use and is in better shape I'd get that instead. Another comment: as was mentioned above, the C2 ergs last a long, long time, but there are a few parts on them that do eventually have to be replaced, e...

Re: DQOTH (Dumb question of the day) on the PM5
The post on the C2 blog linked below says that the X axis units are time. https://www.concept2.com/blog/improving-your-rows-with-the-force-curve?srsltid=AfmBOorFSzf1xmAZMx9hIpVRfq7fOtGa4GAnqyLihnBT7BkJE3k6J1tg But it also says that the Y axis is "power application" which is clearly incorrect, since ...

Re: How to improve watts/distance and stay within heart rate......
+1 on this suggestion. It's so easy to get bogged down in to training zones, heart rate, watts (do people actually use this data point during sessions?) etc to the point we really lose sight of the bigger picture. I agree, and thought the same thing - IMO the OP may be fixating too much on HR and s...

Re: How to improve watts/distance and stay within heart rate......
I am rowing to lose weight , building my knee muscles up to try and help not having knee replacements or be fit enough to have knee replacement. You probably already know this, but I"ll repeat it just the same: I've found that the simplest way to lose weight is to not take in as many calories - eat...

Re: Training advice for runner new to erging?
a 30' row (7332m, 17 s/m) Welcome to the forum : ) I hesitate to mention this, because for a newbie your avg pace of 2:03 over 30 minutes was very good, and you did say that you've already watched some DH videos so you may well be aware of this, but just the same - you should consider upping your s...

Re: New member introduction
What are some other numbers I should focus on? Congratulations! At this point I wouldn't worry too much about the numbers - as was mentioned above, getting your technique right is probably the single most important thing. Regarding the DF, anywhere around 120 +/- 10 is fine to get you started. You ...

Re: Calculation of heart rate zones
If I want to use a formula that uses rest HR, should I look for the lowest HR that I see or a more stable reading? This is what I mean. I measured my HR right after waking up. For a fleeting moment or two, my HR can go down to 48 bmp. But a more stable reading that my body actually can maintain for...

Re: Does anyone have resources to training methodology that this Finn uses?
he makes me rethink EVERYTHING I've learned so far about rowing. Specifically, it leads me to believe that the supposedly only 20% use of upper body strength is very wrong. Perhaps the difference is due to what works best for the typical "average rower" (conventional wisdom approach) compared to wh...

I have no clue, but whatever he's doing it sure is working. Wow.
Random observation: the HR numbers (@36:59 appear to be crazy low for some of the splits, and other than the first split have to be wrong - maybe an intermittent contact)

Re: Anyone have any experience with the SmartRow handle yet?
A couple of concerns I have with this regarding their method of attaching their handle to the C2 chain swivel. Totally agree with this. I'm thinking that either 1) they're aware that they have an issue that will undoubtedly be a medium to long term problem for users, but haven't bothered to fix it,...

Re: Rowing Technique Tips for Tall Beginners.
I'm struggling with feeling cramped at the catch Welcome to the forum : ) I'm not particularly tall, but will mention a few things that apply to everyone at the catch: 1) You probably already know this, but the suggested leg position is "shins vertical at the catch." How flexible are you? That migh...

Re: Simulate Hill Training with Higher Drag Factor?
Rowing is hard enough as it is - it doesn't make any sense to me to try to modify it in any way to make some part of it more difficult. No matter who you are, if you don't find it challenging enough then you just aren't doing it right.
