Re: Will the real Zone 2 please stand up!

Peter Attia has an hour long video Q&A on Zone 2 (including a rower Q) – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=txLrNhv8GW0

And here is a simple approach which is about right – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AoB2AMUq8Wg

Re: Difference between lower back soreness and potential injury?

Here is an article about lower back pain, with a link to a study, from World Rowing which may be useful. And another article talking about it. https://worldrowing.com/2021/05/11/guide-for-managing-low-back-pain-in-rowers https://www.topiom.com/blog/how-to-avoid-rowing-machine-back-pain/ Generally, i...

Re: Calendar Club Challenge? Row the Calendar Challenge?

January is fine, looks a good challenge. I've put it in my calendar as Calendar Climb Challenge 01-31 Jan and a note to this thread to check closer to the time. Yes all the metres will count to the Team Challenge as well as whatever New Year Revolutions challenge is selected.

Re: Calendar Club Challenge? Row the Calendar Challenge?

Any time is good – January works but there are a couple of C2 challenges in January too, one of which is a team challenge, so I already plan to be doing a large number of metres every day anyway. February might be better, since your metres will count towards the C2 military challenge, or if not taki...

Re: How do you track your workouts over the years? what site?

ErgData and the C2 logbook. I save all challenge and milestone certificates (marathons, million metres, etc) and at the end of each season I download that season's logbook data as a csv file from the website. I have folders on my NAS for each season and it all goes in there. Then I start with a new ...

Re: Calendar Club Challenge? Row the Calendar Challenge?

I think it's a great idea and I'd be up for it. I've done the Crazy Bear Challenge a few times but it seems to have died and no idea if it will run this year, with the website and Facebook groups being dormant for a long time.

I'm curious: Is anybody else doing Dark Horse Rowing's Rowvember workouts? I signed up and am 4/4 so far, and really feel motivated to do all 30.
How are you getting on with them? I'm 10 for 10 and aiming for all 30. I'm finding the focus on consistent SPM to be really useful.

Re: Buying a preowned concept 2 model D

Shane Farmer from Dark Horse Rowing has a good video going through things to check when buying a preowned machine.

Re: Stroke Count wrong

That was my impression too, Carl, and seemed to relate to how the PM5 and the mobile devices handle things like bluetooth beacons. I know that some devices - some smart bulbs, thermostats, cameras, etc - can be very sloppy or not follow the correct standards for things like beacons or channel change...

Re: Stroke Count wrong

This looks like the same underlying bug I reported to C2 in March 2020. I would get a disconnect part way through (beta testing a development version of ErgData) and I noticed that this would result in the logbook showing Stroke Rate and Stroke Count ONLY for the part of the session before the disco...

Re: PM5 soaked in Disinfectant by Gyms. Is there a cover available

They are all slowly breaking as the floor staff and some members are soaking the PM5s in disinfectant spray, to the point were they are actually dripping wet and surprisingly stop working. This happened in the locations round here – 4 out of 7 Model E machines rendered unusable because the PM5s wer...

Re: Feet burning when rowing

I'd like to keep usings shoes so not looking to do the shoeless option. I've tried rowing shoeless but it just hurts my feet. If you're looking for wider shoes take a look at court shoes for playing badminton. These are designed to be a little wider fit and have rounded soles at the edges to facili...

Just letting anyone interested know that the 2020 Crazy Bear Challenge is running this year, from 10th Nov to 24th Dec inclusive as usual. 30 HMs in 45 days. The spreadsheet is located here and they've gone back to the approach where anyone can edit their own entries and people are asked to not chan...
