Re: TimbukTOO Team Room

I hope the snacks they served between presentations were tasty!   OMG!!! That video is awesome! Actually, one of the more lauded researchers always likes to talk about the time he ate eight alcid stew, but no seabirds were served at the meeting. There was a lot of cheese though. Slo...

Re: TimbukTOO Team Room

Today is the day to return to the erg! This past week was my favorite annual scientific conference - The Pacific Seabird Group Meeting! Yes, its true - there are at least 319 other people in the world who are as excited (or more!) about seabirds in the Pacific Ocean as I am. :D And this week I got t...

Re: TimbukTOO Team Room

Thanks for the welcome. You looked like a fun virtual group from reading the team page! I remember that skit from the old days... Just got access to a C2 when my company opened a fitness room. Two weeks in and I feel in better shape already. Can only use it on weekdays, but 5 days a week isn'...

Re: TimbukTOO Team Room

I am unable to click through from rankings to team breakdown for some reason today. But I see that I am getting close to my lifetime breaking 10k and will do that late tomorrow night! Awesome, Karen!! Row strong! B) Ditto that! So exciting to see those initial meters rack up! I hope you're ...

Re: TimbukTOO Team Room

Only if I can get gold boots like that guard captain!!! Ha! Yeah! And one of those blingy gold necklaces and the miniskirt. Thanks for the encouragement about starting a training program! I've never really gone balls out on a 2k to even figure out how fast I could go...until today! I cut almost 25 ...

Re: TimbukTOO Team Room

I am doing a kettle bell swing challenge this month and warming up and cooling down with erg. So my row meters will not grow as fast in Feb...but Tues and Thurs are no swing days and I look to o larger rows on those days. :D Good for you! That seems like it will be a great upper body and core worko...

Re: TimbukTOO Team Room

Hey hey Timbutoo! After a nice little break, I'm getting back on the erg today. I'm so inspired by those of you competing and training to improve your times! It was great to read your story of SWEAT Quatroux! Sounds like an AWESOME race! There is a satellite CRASH-B regatta here in the NW too, up in...

Re: TimbukTOO Team Room

For the challenge total, any meters you report in your log as rowed on or before 1/31 will go towards the challenge, even if you report them afterwards (though I think Concept2 says they have to be recorded by 2/3 or thereabouts). So say you row the meters on 1/31 but don't enter them into your log...

Re: TimbukTOO Team Room

Sprinting is a whole different set of muscles apparently. I am amazed I am keeping up with my virtual challenge meters through this as well. On the bright side, scored my first goal last night :-) Amen to that! As another former soccer player, it is soooo humbling to go back to a sport you were onc...

Re: TimbukTOO Team Room

Whew! After a week of fever, cough, stuffy nose and laying on the couch, I finally got back on the erg and did a very slow 5k.
At least its a start! I've got a long way to go to get my goal, but glad to be back in the boat!
Glad to see some new team members and some impressive Polar bear rows! Wow!

Re: TimbukTOO Team Room

Ugh. Flu season! Woke up this morning with chills and aches - probably not getting a row in today. Hopefully will feel better tomorrow!
Hope everyone is staying healthy and taking your vitamins!
