Re: Deciding to finally jump in here!
Hello again Pink Tulip. Initially, I took up rowing in order to lose weight and improve my poor level of fitness. Almost six years on ( and not a fast rower either ) I’m still enjoying the sport and apart from the occasional few pounds fluctuation in my weight, still keeping off the 70 pounds that e...

Re: Deciding to finally jump in here!
Hello there PinkTulip and apologies for not replying sooner; after almost catching up with post-Christmas correspondence, I am now suffering from ( if only temporarily ) a bad case of keyboard fatigue.  I do understand your preference for posting on the Women’s Forum, if this is where y...

Re: January Challenge(s) 2020!
I selected the stretch (20 days). Is there anyway to change challenges? Snow made it difficult to get to the gym. We now have an erg at the house. I took a rest day today. I don’t think I will hit 20 days. I think maybe I can do 15 hours, Hello there dublinseacow - the deadline to change challenges...

Re: Holiday Challenge 2019!
After falling quite behind, I was able to catch up and presently have a little less than 5000 m to row to make 100,000. I'm happy with my progress, because I've learned so much by doing this challenge. Hello there djdj. Well done for getting back on track with the finish line in your sights now. :)...

Re: Holiday Challenge 2019!
Hi! I am newish to rowing but I acquired a used Concept2 recently and decided to join this challenge to ramp up my training. I'm planning to follow the Concept2 calendar mostly with some modifications for the days that I go to the gym for strength training. If you have any suggestions for a newby, ...

Re: Holiday Challenge 2019!
Hello there Sharkey, it’s good to see that you have started this thread and I will do my best to keep you company. :) Happy Thanksgiving and I do hope that you are having an enjoyable day. I read an article in last week’s paper that officially declared 70 ( was 65 ) as being the start of old age. :s...

Re: Fall Team Challenge 2019
Sharky, apologies not necessary. Much admiration to you and so many others out there who have to try and fit in some form of exercise after spending a long and tiring day at work. Not easy. I’m lucky because I can row first thing in the morning but if I'd had to do so later on in the day when my ene...

Re: Fall Team Challenge 2019
Hello there Sharkey, I am sorry that you have had to cope with various health issues. I haven’t visited here for a while, so it’s good to see you back and hopefully … feeling fit enough to square up to the metal beast again. :) At the beginning of the season, I tripped on some uneven paving, went fl...

Re: Forum Login
Thank you to Lindsay and others for your persistence in ( mega optimism here ) sorting out the signing in problems.
It's hard enough being techlexic, without having to keep proving that I'm not a robot.
Again, many thanks.

Re: Holly's journey
Hi Holly, I have read through this thread a few times now and apart from my own words of encouragement, there is little more that I can add to the already excellent posts here. I never had weight problems until my middle years when the stress and worry of having to cope with various little life prob...

Hi Sharky,
You must have beaten me to it, by a few minutes, with your post.
I do hope that everything will be okay and erging hasn't pulled on the stitches.
Take care.

Re: February Follies 2019
Hi again ladies, Something that I forgot to mention in my earlier post and which you might already know about, is the Valentine’s Day CTC, the Carole McNally Memorial Row, which has been an annual event for the last twelve years. Free Spirits always enter a team - you have to row a straight 1402 met...

Go for it girls.👍💪 Janet, is it possible for you to ' bor...
