For sale: Model D PM5 West of England

Hi Folks, other hobbies have come to the fore and I'm simply not using my new rower as I thought I would. It's got only a few 100k meters and is simply gathering dust. About 6 months old or so. Looks brand new. It's in the West of England. Model D PM5 as new. £699 - let me know if you are interested...

Re: Looking for a pair of slides UK.

I have a pair of slides for sale in West of England. These have been very little used, no wear at all that I can see. Got them and then never really used them £200.

For sale Model B with PM3 (West of England)

Note I'm re-posting this as it wasn't sold over Xmas after all. I've had my model B for donkey's years. I upgraded it to a PM3 sometime in the last decade and have put under 5 million meters on it since then. I'm hoping I can pass this onto someone who is looking for an easy way to get started, so a...

For sale Model B with PM3 (West of England)

I've had my model B for donkey's years. I upgraded it to a PM3 sometime in the last decade and have put under 5 million meters on it since then. I'm hoping I can pass this onto someone who is looking for an easy way to get started, so am asking only £150. West of England. It's in fine condition. The...

C2 slides for sale

Hi Folks,
I can't see a 'for sale' forum, so am posting here.

It's been an age since I've posted, mostly on the old forum. I'm selling a pair of slides £225. Very enjoyable to use, but really never used all that much as I moved to cycling. Based in Somerset, UK.

Another data point: I run a B with a speed ring and a PM3. With the vents just over half closed and on the big cog I read DF=130. This should be and is equivalent in feel on the pull to about 120 on a 14 tooth cog (14/15*130=121.3)

Cheers,
Steve.

Shall we clear this up and answer the original poster's question? First of all there's flywheel velocity. It's an angular velocity. As people have said said, power is proportional to the cube of the flywheel velocity. So, same power means same flywheel velocity. Secondly there's handle velocity, whi...

John,
how do you get to the cube of cog ratio? You have been asked this before, but I have never seen an answer.

Cheers,
Steve.

No absolute need to change cog wheel, I haven't. It depends on what you're trying to achieve. Drag factor is drag factor, regardless of cog wheel. What will feel different is the force you put on the handle since your cogs are different sizes on the B. On my B I use the 15 cog and set drag to 130 on...

I put a speed ring (still available), D handle and PM3 on my B. I like being able to read drag factor, also see average split on long pieces, which my PM1 couldn't do. I also upload to web log book via USB - so easy!

Yes I thought someone might say that. Can you tell us why?

You can still buy speed rings for the B. I just did (in the UK). If you run a speed ring, CBreeze and have vents half open, you'll get a DF of about 130. Because the cog sizes are 13/15 on the B versus 14 on the C/D/E, it will feel a bit different on the pull. I set DF = 130 and use the 15 cog, whic...
