Fantastic. Closing in on a sub 8. Nothing but admiration to churn out these sort of metres.
Thanks Alex!

I don't know if I ever will attack this beast
Thanks! It's a beast alright. I've never been fast at anything. Very grateful to have discovered C2 rowing and these longer challenges.

Re: Endurance erging - A place to discuss 42, 50, 100k upwards.

Eric that is a great achievement. Especially speeding up for the last 2 splits. SO sub 8 next year  Thanks! Gosh, I guess shooting for sub-8 pace will be a goal for next season. These endurance rows sure are an adventure. Ya never really know how it's going to play out. There's only so muc...

Re: Endurance erging - A place to discuss 42, 50, 100k upwards.

I rowed a Century yesterday and was pleasantly surprised that we can now set it up via the PM5 as a "single distance" and it provides splits every 20k and a projected time to finish. THANK YOU CONCEPT2! They must have just made this change in the last year? No more setting it up as a single interval...

Re: New Personal Best! Brag About That New Pb!

Didn't break any speed records but thanks to that January Team Challenge I rowed a total of 837,401 meters in one month, which included back to back 1/2 centuries on Jan 29th & 30th. That's going to be a tough endurance record for me to beat. Jan 29 3:53:37.2 50,000m 2:20.1 127 737 22 129 46:44.0 10...

Re: Endurance erging - A place to discuss 42, 50, 100k upwards.

Does anyone have any advice on how I can move my marathon PB from 3 hrs 14 mins to sub 3 hrs?? For some context I did my first marathon a couple of months ago. Finished in 3 hrs 14 mins which was a 2:18 pace. A couple of weeks later I did my first 50k in 3 hrs 49 mins which was 2:17.8 pace. I have ...

Re: Endurance erging - A place to discuss 42, 50, 100k upwards.

I just completed 100km on the Ski erg (9:11:21/ 8th of 8) yesterday and 100km on the rower (8:52:59 / 27th of 56) on Christmas. Here’s what I learned as a below average (based on ranked times in general) athlete: 1. Its not about physical fitness as much as it is mental 2. Go out with a planned spl...

Re: Endurance erging - A place to discuss 42, 50, 100k upwards.

I have ankle issues too, like Ollie. With a plate and 5 screws in my right ankle (motocross injury),it will start to ache with too much ankle flexion. I focus on keeping my shins vertical with each and every stroke. I made it through the 100k with no pain there. Looking at the doing the entire 100k ...

My guess is that you were simply dehydrated. I've read that eating solid food while dehydrated can cause abdominal cramps.

Re: New Personal Best! Brag About That New Pb!

Fancied to test myself today - not going to get loads more erg sessions in before christmas and figured I ought to take advantage of my longer row mindset and have a crack at the 1hr - as it was my lowest percentile effort (and oldest). I used ergzone for the first time - quite liked the table view...

Re: Endurance erging - A place to discuss 42, 50, 100k upwards.

How much of y'alls training is anything sprint related? I'm finding myself gravitating towards long distance more because I really don't like doing interval work. Much easier mentally for me to do a 75 minute UT2 workout than a 15 minute AT workout, go figure. No sprints for me this year. I’ve real...
