Re: HELP erging burnout!

Thanks everyone! :D I've decided to back of of my current plan and get in with the Pete Plan instead. I'm going to replace some sessions with cardio other than erging--probably running or cycling at the gym. Also going to be doing some sculling on the water, which I love! Ii'm optimistic that I can ...

Re: HELP erging burnout!

Thanks everyone! It's awesome that you're helping me out here :D In addition to finding others to train with and adding some variety to your training, I’d ask how long and frequent your training sessions are. You might be able to reduce or eliminate some session without sacrificing improvement. I di...

No, I haven't tried it. Would that replace some of the sessions?

HELP erging burnout!

Hi everyone, I'm going to be a senior in HS with an 8:36 2k as of two years ago. I didn't PR last winter, though I should have. I know I'm more fit than the 8:36 time. I've started a summer 2k training programme (interactive) to help with my score--I want to break 8. I tried a 2k some time ago and i...

The Most Time off a 2k?

I'm about 5'8, 125-126 pounds in season, and my best 2k time is an 8:36. Is it possible for me to drop my time over winter conditioning to around an 8 flat, or is that way too high of an expectation like I suspect? I want to go into rowing in college, possibly lightweight or DII. Is that realistic? ...

D. I or D. II in women's lightweight rowing?

Hi, I'm going to be a junior in high school. I was 5'7" at my last checkup and weigh ~126 lbs during the season. My 2k PR is 8:36.4. (Not great, I know; I'm working on it). What I would like to know is the differences between D. I and D. II in women's rowing, especially in the lightweight category. ...

I meant off-training days. Thanks for the suggestion, it's a good idea and specific!

Daily Erging during School Year

Hi, I'm an incoming junior in high school. This year I'll have a lot on my plate, including 2nd-year varsity rowing, student council, and several AP/honors classes. Time management is key. Although I am a decent rower on the water, my erg scores are only average--I want to make them above average. I...
