Re: February Follies

Hi, Sharkey and Jill, i am in for Mud Season Madness! Staying at the 5000m level, as I am doing a lot of walking as well. It has been an open winter in my part of the world, so I’ve been able to walk outside without breaking myself to bits on the ice. Jill, my husband and I laughed at your British “...

Re: Holiday Challenge

Hi Sharkey, Jill, and Holly,
We all did it! I just finished. Sharkey, I add my thanks to Jill’s for getting us started. Really proud of this little group and how we cheered each other on.
Wishing you peace and joy through the holidays.

Re: Holiday Challenge

...annnddd...4.35 k left to row! Easy peasy, one hopes! It is looking good for earning my pin tomorrow. You know, part of the reason I joined the challenge was to raise money for charity. I didn’t realize how insignificant my contribution would be as I made the decision before I did the math. (Kinda...

Re: Holiday Challenge

Congratulations Sharkey! Pounds, percents, pace and pants! Loud cheers in my corner of the world!
I have 10,400 m left to go, planning to break it into two and be done on Thursday.
How is everyone else doing?

Re: Holiday Challenge

Thanks Lindsay and Jill for the info about virtual teams. I’ve found the forum to be a great help to me and pretty interesting with so many people from different places geographically and otherwise that I do plan on continuing to take part in some way, Yay Jill...you are almost there! Prepare for th...

Re: Holiday Challenge

Oh it is good to hear you are all doing well with this! Holly, I row in the spare bedroom, so it is pretty straightforward. For a while I had it in the basement but I like being upstairs much more. I will have to put it back in the basement for the holidays so maybe joining a virtual team would be h...

Re: Holiday Challenge

It has been a fun week, Sharky with the holiday spoils and Jill with the favourite music! I’m at 121k now, so pretty much on track for 200. Today I busted out the Christmas music starting with my favourite jazzy stuff. It’ll get old by the end of the season but right now it’s golden! Row on!

Re: Holiday Challenge

Hi there, Still moving! I’ve got a similar approach...needing to stick with the routine and tricking myself when I don’t feel inclined to make my meters, saying I’ll just row to the next milestone and find once there I can carry on. Fortunately I am easy to fool! Thanks for your concern about my dog...

Re: Holiday Challenge

Ha! Not sure my effort to “jog with the dog” should impress you, Dykebert! How is everyone doing? I am still on track, but thankful today is a light day and tomorrow a day of rest! Row on, gals!

Re: Holiday Challenge

Great advice on avoiding the rocks while rowing. I've got a schedule that includes rest days, and I expect I’ll do some creative juggling with it to manage a few spontaneous rest days. My dog is recovering from leg surgery and I am supposed to start jogging with her tomorrow as part of her rehab...e...

Re: Holiday Challenge

Whoa, an hour at a time! I am dividing up my workouts, morning and early evening, which is working well. I still have energy to walk the dog! Hearing how everyone is doing is very motivating.

Re: Holiday Challenge

Okay, you both have encouraged me and I am upping my game. I got in a total of 10 k today in 2 sessions, listening to 70’s radio! Dykebert, enjoy your Thanksgiving visitors!

Good for you! I got another session in tonight, 3.3 km more. I am shooting for 5 days a week too. Anybody else going to start this week?

Re: Holiday Challenge

Happy Thanksgiving to the US folks!
I plan to row twice each day, so just completed my first workout and logged it. Pretty excited, 3400 m to start. Whoopie!

Re: Holiday Challenge

Hi there! My first post isn’t showing up so I may not have the hang of this message board! I’m 61, new to rowing challenges and to the forum. It sounds like a lot of fun! I am trying for 100 k like wildrover but hope I can exceed that if all goes well. I plan to row about 5 days per week. I am at 5 ...
