Re: Rowing Setup - What do you have?

Hey Carl! I've used your hints to tweak the old Model C at work to run MUCH better, thanks. Interesting setup - I think with the RowPro software, resolution really doesn't matter, but size does for sure! What is fitted over the flywheel on your test machine and why? Do you have a usual time to row? ...

Re: Rowing Setup - What do you have?

Here's a pic from the seat with the 32" TV (Westinghouse from Best Buy, really nice and on sale for $220 now), going to make rowing even more fun: https://lh5.googleusercontent.com/-KXyonfD9wFk/UMUgJ4AAaHI/AAAAAAAABYU/FB8yexwoiwU/s512/IMG_0021.JPG I think a 37" or even 42" would be great on this set...

Rowing Setup - What do you have?

Hey folks, I finally got my own Concept 2 Model D rower after using an old (circa '95) Model C at work for months, it's awesome!! Since I got the optional Polar HR monitor with my rower, I did buy a new Polar Heart Rate Monitor watch (FT4), since my old generic didn't transmit enough to register pro...

Re: Weird clicking noise - Model C

Most often Carl's IPA cleaning technique will restore full function to older keypads. If your keypad is still sluggish, a better repair is to use a keypad repair kit such as http://www.chemtronics.com/products/product.asp?r=1&m=2&id=32. This puts a silver filled, fully conductive coating over the S...

Re: Weird clicking noise - Model C

Update - sweet - got the new parts, hope to do the maintenance over the weekend, rower is still running fine after the oiling and cleaning (monitor is still running automatically without smacks, amazing!), but this should get it MUCH smoother. Hope the heart monitor receiver works. I can't believe h...

Re: PM3 problem?

hehe - wow - according to the old PM 2 at work on a Model C, when I do 3:20/500, it's very easy - something is malfunctioning for SURE! You're probably breaking records and don't even know it!

The shock cords pull the chain/handle back to the front on the recovery of the stroke. Nothing more.
Cool, thanks - I didn't really understand how it interacted with the rest of the system.

Re: The handle seems stuck...

Hello! I just assembled the Model E rower and was about to give it a try. Much to my dismay, the handle seems stuck and doesn't want to come out--something must be stuck? I am hoping that it is something simple but would like your opinion on what to do. I am a definite newbie so your help is apprec...

Re: Spreadsheet to help with the Concept2.co.uk heart traini

Hey Citroen, How did you put that spreadsheet out onto the web again as rowing.servebeer.com/Heart_Rate.xl ? rowing.servebeer.com is a virtual host on my webserver running on my Ubuntu computer that sits under the desk in my home office. If you want a place to play build a blog on http://wordpress....

Re: Weird clicking noise - Model C

Thanks Carl - I did notice the battery terminals were a bit rusty when I put in new batteries, I actually didn't think it would work at all! I will have to bring it home so I can take it apart and do a thorough cleaning and rust removal on it. Any hints on the buttons? Also, what exactly does the sh...

Re: Rowing for 10 minutes on breaks at work - suggestions?

Hey guys,

Turns out by the time I get my boots off I only have 8 minutes to row on breaks. But, I still enjoy boots off since I get better flexibility (of course), and it just feels good - pushing off from the toes does make a big difference!

Thanks again for the suggestions,

Re: Weird clicking noise - Model C

Hey folks, thanks for the replies! Here is my progress so far: Monday - I oiled the chain nicely (I used Stihl Bar and Chain Oil , hehe - I gotta use what we have on site) - man was it rusty! Cleaned out a lot of dust from the flywheel area, still had a bit of the clicking. Changed the batteries, bu...

Weird clicking noise - Model C

Hey there, We have a Concept 2 Model C rower at work that I have started to use and it has a weird clicking noise, usually occurring during the recovery - I think. Any ideas? This has been in a workplace fitness center for years with probably NO maintenance whatsoever, I think I saw a service tag on...
