Re: To Slide or not to slide
The C2 erg is not light. On slides it really feels strange having the entire machine move. Again, if I spent more time on slides I'm sure it would seem normal. Have you ever rowed on the water? The C2 erg is about the same weight as a single scull with oars, so motion is actually very similar to be...

Re: To Slide or not to slide
I guess I’m the old timer then, first used an erg 50 years ago next month (obviously not a C2, which had not yet been invented). Once C2 was in business, I started with a model A and have owned every model, A,B,C,D,E, and every PM. And no back problems to report, I believe keeping active is a big pa...

Re: Box and cost to ship a model c/d
The link to shipping page is what C2 charges for shipping. Undoubtedly that is with volume discounts that C2 has negotiated with whatever shipping company they use. I was hoping that someone here would have shipped on recently on their own, and would know what it cost? Just in case, if anyone in the...

Box and cost to ship a model c/d
My daughter is visiting and wants a rower, so I plan to ship her one of my extras. I have both a C and D so curious about both. Does anyone have an old box lying around they can give me the measurements of? And has anyone shipped a machine cross country and have an idea of price? I don't have a busi...

Re: Fun with Slides
Slidewinder: I don’t know what I did to make you start posting again but I am sorry I did, and hope you’ll stop unless you’re willing to keep your comments related to the C2 Slides. Your timeline is BS. In fact, C2 started selling their first dynamic rower in the year 2000 when they started selling ...

Re: Fun with Slides
Let’s not go overboard. I’ve been rowing with a C2 since they first came out, and the difference in the feel is subtle. If I had never rowed on the water I doubt I would have noticed it. Whether on slides or not, the C2 is by far the best rowing machine I have used, and I have gone through several d...

Fun with Slides
I’ve been rowing for a LONG time now, and have had some flavors of C2’s since they were first put on the market. Currently have a C, D and E. But just got some Slides for the first time so set them up on the E, and I have to say I REALLY like them. I haven’t been on the water since college crew, but...

Re: pm3 resurrection or electronic waste
Thanks, Carl, that was useful information. It did not respond to a factory reset as you spelled out, so I'll just put it aside for parts use. And Citreon, you clearly didn't read what I wrote, since I made it clear that there is no corrosion damage AT ALL. Which is why I was surprised that this moni...

pm3 resurrection or electronic waste
I got a rower with a PM3 that does not power on. I checked for oxidation at battery, and there is none. Replacement batteries do nothing, screen stays blank. Pulling a few strokes does nothing, screen stays blank. Plugging into USB does nothing, screen stays blank. Computer does not detect any USB d...

Re: Model B and Model D drag
I’ve owned all models, A through E (currently using an E). You want to purchase a Model B speedring (also called wind damper extension ring) for your B from C2 support. Very easy to install using instructions https://www.concept2.com/files/pdf/us/indoor-rowers/B_WindDamperExtensionRing_Install.pdf ....

Re: Model E PM4
I’ve owned every C2 model from A to E, and most recently a model D with PM4 and a model E with PM5. When I realized I could sell the model D for original cost and that I don’t *really* need two rowing machines at the same time, I swapped the PMs and sold the D/PM5. I’ve been using the E/PM4 since - ...

I don't suppose you ever drive to the Boston area do you? If you do, PM me. Unfortunately Fairfield CT is too far for me to go.

Re: Model A - resistance setting assistance
It's been a while since I owned a Model A. You should read the manual pages for detailed info for where to find the sprockets and how to move the chain from one to the other (your fingers will get oil on them). The only way to adjust resistance on the Model A is to switch between the two sprockets w...

Re: Dirt on rollers
I don't think using oil is a good idea. As has been pointed out, it just collects more dust on the rail. Not sure what effect it would have on the plastic rollers either.
I think keeping it clean and dry is the best advice.
