Re: Forum Flyers
Curious about the row report foto. Is it a composite? Jack - yes, it's from Strava. I've got my C2 logbook linked to my Strava. When I sync in ErgData, the workout goes to both the logbook and to Strava including that photo. However, as with most things Strava, it has its limitations - you never ge...

Re: Forum Flyers
Morning, afternoon, evening Jack, Henry, Lindsay, Dave et al. Hope everyone is well. Red Line Rowers {Why aren’t they called Red Line Tubers? Or Red Line Riders?} have kindly revealed the absolutely shocking significance of their September offering. R is the 18th letter of the Anglo alphabet, L the ...

Re: Skierg pb thread
Last night I did something quite interesting. I added the number of times ahead or behind me for each of the 4 events, on each page of the final results , and added the numbers to see my placing in each event. Then I added the 4 placings together, divided by 4 to get the average, and added 50 to th...

Re: Skierg pb thread
Got a new 2k pb this afternoon: 10:01.6, beating the old by 4.5s. Average pace 2:30.4, 45spm Splits: 2:29.9, 2:30.5, 2:31.7, 2:29.5; (45spm for each split). Not the result I was after - I went to lower the previous 10:06.1 pb (TdS week 3) to sub 10. I was so sure I would get it due to recent fitness...

Great effort and result John - that's a big chunk for such a short TT.johnlvs2run wrote: ↑March 2nd, 2019, 7:21 pmNew 100 meter PB this morning.

Re: Skierg pb thread
Well done John - improving by 37.5s is a great result. I did my first SkiErg 10k today, thus completing the Tour de SkiErg challenge. Having never completed anything above 5k (as a single piece) before, I had to take a flyer on target paces that I could realistically sustain over perhaps 55min . I w...

Re: Forum Flyers
Hey Paul. Good to hear from you. I believe you’ve made a useful discovery: a 3/4 stroke that doesn’t take much from performance and is kinder to your ankle joints. I’d say practise that stroke and use it to advantage. Rate is the multiplier no matter the power in a single stroke. Even at lower rate...

Re: Forum Flyers
Evening (/ morning) Flyers - long time no see! Tempted by this month's CTC so back on the rower this afternoon. Also, Jack finally posted a target I could chase. However, not a level playing field - I did mine free rate. What with a still dodgy ankle and now hip too (tweaked something at the front o...

Re: Skierg Force Curve
I have only recently been looking a bit more into SkiErg technique (and also XC ski technique for comparison). Today was the first time I looked at the SkiErg force curve... I found this interesting newsletter from the Biorow website: http://www.biorow.com/RBN_en_2010_files/2010RowBiomNews12.pdf Fig...

Re: Skierg pb thread
Hi Steve - thanks very much! I'm currently trying to get set for the dreaded 10k!
I have recently looked into the force curve - there's another thread about it so I'll post there to keep it all together:

Re: Skierg pb thread
Good work John. I also did the 2k yesterday as I've just started with a cold and thought I will only get worse between then and Thursday. I was hoping to go below 10 mins, but missed. I was holding steady at sub 2:30 pace, 100+ W up to 1050m, then dropped to 90+ W and horrible pace numbers as bad as...

Re: Skierg pb thread
New 2k PB tonight: 10:11.3, a decent chunk off from the previous 10:23.8 on 27 Aug. Starting to think sub 10' is not too far away! Will do more 400m or 500m interval work at 2:30 pace and below, with 90s or 60s rests.

Re: Skierg pb thread
Two new PBs for me tonight: First, 5k - 25:59.7 (from 27:37.8 on 29 July) Then, 1k - 4:58.8 (from 5:18.5 on 8 July) Pleasing to just sneak under 26' and 5' respectively, though possibly not the wisest thing to attempt two back-to-back PBs in the same session! This was one of those times when I could...
