kiwi training(q)
I was wondering if anyone knew the volume and type of training that the kiwis do or has an example week. I have heard that the guys who have been in the system for a while do a ton of volume ~5h a day. Is this just rowing, rowing + cycling+ some drills rowing. total time on the water, not just actua...

Re: 2k based on workouts(pacing question)
I haven't 2ked in a while. just did the pieces as hard as I could (have done them multiple times so I know the range I should pull in for each workout)

Re: 2k based on workouts(pacing question)
So you think 6.10 is a reasonable goal?

2k based on workouts(pacing question)
I was wondering how a 10x500m on 1' rest and 10k related to 2k (same SR). This is for a pretty aerobic person. I have heard it is around 10x500 will be .5-1 slower than the 2k, but I wanted to verify this (need to decide on pacing). I can do 1.33.0 for the 10x500 and 1.42 splits for a 10k. Thanks fo...

converting times
I am curious to see what people think of converting times between sports. Lets say we have a 6ft ltwt 155-160. What would a 20' 6k convert to if they were equivalently good at running? This could be 10k or 5k. Similarly, what would a 6.15 convert to for a mile. I used that weight for ltwt because it...

nordic skiing
Hi, I am a collegiate rower and a troller of the concept2 forum. I was wondering what people thought about classic nordic style vs skate skiing. Which is better as a compliment to rowing? It seems like skate is a higher power exercise which is good. The advantages to classic seem to be that it is fo...

Re: rib
Thanks. I am doing a lot more on the bike and more strength training than I was before. I am only doing 50k of erging a week (as opposed to 100-115km which is what I did last winter) and I had a negative scan before resuming, so I was very confused

Re: rib
I would say the same, but I took 3 months completely off and had a negative bone scan before starting again. Yet there has been pain continuously. Even when I started rowing 3 months ago, I am at half the rowing/Erving volume I did before the injury so I don't know how I would have reinjured.

rib
Is it at all common for people who have had stress fractured ribs to report pain a few months later with no injury present. I have heard that hypersensitivity can occur if there is a proliferation in receptors and a sensitization of the nerves, but I didnt know if this was common for the rib stress ...
Re: weights
Ok, thanks a lot. By the way, what is considered a good squat and deadlift (8-10 reps) for a light heavyweight (175-185lbs)
weights
Note: this is not here to discuss the usefulness of weights, just certain safety measures and applications I posted a while back about trying to get stronger by engaging in a weight lifting program. I just wanted to ask a couple questions regarding safe use of lifting. Is it too much to squat and de...
