Re: *Really* Cheap Model D- is this a scam?
No, definitely at least a little new to see here. Most every of 419 I have ever heard of is blind, with nothing more than an email address of the target. This variation calls on a particular piece of information about the target- in this case, Edward's vocation as a rowing coach. It sorta lends legi...

Re: *Really* Cheap Model D- is this a scam?
A google search of the telephone number listed at the rowerblowouts site finds that this is a mobile number in India. So I say don't wait, call the credit card company now.

Re: Removing tobacco smoke smell from Model D
mind:blown now what to i put stuff in to keep them non-smelly?? :( will keep an eye out for the magnets, thanks!! and you're right- the "cleaning" cloth is now adorning the bottom of the trash can. Hardly worth it to even try to run in through the washing machine I think, what with the plethora of m...

Re: Removing tobacco smoke smell from Model D
Thanks for the detailed description, Mr. Meister. I have ordered the bungee and it will be here Tuesday and I'll carve out some time for the operation. I'll see if it will be helpful to photograph the weights before starting just in case any slip off. I think I'll even use my electric toothbrush to ...

Re: Removing tobacco smoke smell from Model D
Thanks guys. No problem, I knew exactly what you meant- I should have said "cage" instead of "assembly". I just blew some Fabreze through it while pulling with the other hand. Will give it a one workout shot to see how that holds up. Will definitely wipe down the exterior, though. With as clean as t...

Re: Removing tobacco smoke smell from Model D
Thanks guys. I won't mind a vinegar smell at all. I used to be an amateur photographer, so it always reminds me of darkroom work. "I love the smell of stop bath in the morning. Smells like...black and white" I thought about using my barn for a bit, but it's too cold right now. I'm a wimp when it com...

Removing tobacco smoke smell from Model D
Hi guys, the prior owner of my new-to-me model D was a heavy smoker. Didn't think it would matter much, but even on the drive home I could smell it in my car. When I unloaded it, the smell was pretty strong up near the fan assemble. Rut ro. I'm very concerned that if I spin it up in my basement that...

Re: *Really* Cheap Model D- is this a scam?
YEAAAHHH!!! I'm an Owner!! Got a great deal on a 2010 Model D (along with 2 data cards and the HRM receiver) whose owner unfortunately has passed. Hit the CralisList ad 52 minutes after it went up. Was crossing my fingers that I wasn't too late... :? Anyhow, I have a TON of questions. Instead of mis...

Re: blisters on hands
Just wanted to pile on here. This here thread saved me a LOT of pain. I do 60-80 minutes, and my hands were raw, so I bought gloves. Started wearing THEM out on the smooth model D plastic handle. Then I read this thread and adopted the "hook" technique, with my thumbs just hanging loose. Haven't wor...

Re: Erging at Home or Club?
Concur about Quatroux's post. Rings so, so true. I am also trying to work out getting a D for my house. My situation is pretty much the same- my life is mine between 9PM-7AM, and when The Kid is at school (and I'm working). So during the 40+ degree whether (early spring-late fal), my alarm rings at ...

Re: *Really* Cheap Model D- is this a scam?
I did contact C2, as well as the guy whom cas_sj contacted on account of the merchantcircle review. He informed the FBI and the TX Attorney General. C2 echoes the comments above- Nobody ever sells these new at a discount. Wish I lived nearer Boston and it was before that indoor rowing event- would d...

Re: *Really* Cheap Model D- is this a scam?
Wow, thanks. They are in fact the same place, so impugn away!! Their website (not their url) still refers to "the fitness factory". Even the testimonials mention "thafitnessfactory". So just another scam incarnation. Maybe I'll start the ball rolling and post up in the merchant circle so others can ...
