Re: PM5 cradle (no longer Available)
If you try to purchase the PM5 smartphone cradle you get the message that is is no longer available, versus out of stock. Anybody know why? I was looking at the gooseneck solutions posted in this topic. Can someone(s) clarify where and how you secure it to the SkiErg?

Re: New SkiErg - new PM ?
I have the new PM5. I have not fully explored it as of yet but I can tell you it works fine with the Garmin. The major thing I see is that it has a backlight -- I can actually read the screen through the sweat pouring into my eyes. It also uses a USB key instead of a Logcard - yea! Otherwise it seem...

Re: Skierg Training
I think a Concept2 employee could better answer your questions, but the flywheel is the same so the calibrations are the same, SkiErg or Rower -- the distance is probably not accurate, but a useful tool for measuring/comparing. I suggest you look at Watts instead of looking at distance at a time as ...

Re: Skierg Training
Before I'd answer this question I'd like to know if you are a Nordic skier. If you're a Nordic skier you probably want to approach your training differently than just for fitness.

Re: Replacing Handles?
I replaced the handles with Swix handles and straps. It is extremly easy. Unfortunately we can't do attachments in this forum. If you have a Facebook account look at the SkiErg page and you will see several examples how best to do it. Or you can send me an email (marshall.peterson(at)gmail.com) and ...

Re: Power or Pace during Interval Rest
Thanks, good workaround even though I think the PM4 should display information during the rest. Why do I want to do it? Because my coach says, "Do it!" (and he's bigger and meaner than a s...) You can see the point; the idea of intervals is to train your body to work harder by doing the exercise in ...

Power or Pace during Interval Rest
When I do intervals, I like the rest interval power to be at a percentage of the interval power, like 65% of my workout watts. Unfortunately the PM4 won't display that information. I don't know if it is not available but the field that displays that data during the workout, displays the Interval # d...

Re: Replacing Handles?
I wonder how many others are frustrated with the handles? I suspect Concept2 sees no reason to consider different handles if most are happy with the current ones -- it is an unnecessary expense. If you are unhappy then let them know. The SkiErg is the standard for indoor training; I think it needs h...

Replacing Handles?
Now that I'm into longer sessions of an hour or more, the hand straps slip over time especially as they get wet from sweat. It is very frustrating to have to stop and adjust the straps when you are trying to be consistent. My "friendly" coach is adamant that I not have a death grip on my pole handl...

Re: Variety on the SkiErg
Thanks for the ideas. I sent the following email to Fitter First. I'll let you know what they say. I've tried a Bosu ball and it does provide some instability but it doesn't seem to provide applicable balance skills/challenges. I have a Concept2 SkiErg. I'm looking for ways to make using it more int...

Re: Replacing or Augmenting the PM4
All good points -- the new Garmin 910XT might be a good option too -- but all those options require an outlay of substantial money -- we already paid a lot to get a PM4 - suspect a firmware upgrade would be all it needs to transmit much more data via its ANT+ interface. It is time for it to move to ...

Replacing or Augmenting the PM4
When introduced the PM4 was an excellent monitor. Then isn't now. While there may be a place for the PM4 in such places as gyms, the world has moved on. Small processors, memory and screens are inexpensive and smartphones and tablets are proliferating. The limitations of the PM4 are too many to name...

Re: Garmin 610 - ANT+ and R-R data
Believe me Training Effect (TE) works -- or should I say it makes you work? It is a good measure of your effort and as you improve it ensures that you have to work harder to get the same TE. It is a brutal task manager and lets you get away with nothing.

Increase or Eliminate Interval Limits
1. Can we please get rid of the 30 total intervals (it is for each) for the Custom and Favorites workout lists? 2. Failing #1 can we have a running total of the intervals so that we don't enter a new workout and not be able to save it? 3. Can we have a way to directly delete a workout from the Custo...

Re: Set Number of Intervals on PM4
True, but the challenge is after a few new workouts I get the message the Workout can't be saved to favorites because the maximum number of intervals in Favorites has been exceeded. I've moved some of my Favorites to Custom and so far no problem. Does anyone know if there is a limitation in Custom? ...
