I may not be the best qualified to respond, but I would think all you would need to do is flash the appropriate firmware for the device on which you would like to use the monitor...

I would also love to have the option to pause a workout. I somehow thought this feature existed, but was unable to find out how to do so... It's available on PM4s with the latest firmware. Not available on PM3s. I upgraded to the PM4 and have the latest firmware AFAIK, but haven't found that option...
