Re: Editing PM5 Date on USB Flash Drive
Thanks for getting back to me, Citroen; I appreciate your offer of help. I think I'll respectfully pass on the code refactoring and simply delete the 2014 entries in my online log and replace them with the basic correct date, time, distance stats. The lesson learned is that in future be sure to chec...

Editing PM5 Date on USB Flash Drive
While away from home last week, I recorded some pieces done while working out on a "foreign" PM5 onto my own flash drive and then used the convenient Concept2 Utility to upload the data to my online Log. That all worked very nicely but it turns out that the date on the "foreign" PM5 was set to somet...

Re: Recommendations to purchase good quiet cooling fan
I'm a little confused on the drag factor. I'm assuming that you mean that the cbreeze will increase the drag factor. Is that correct?

Wow, this look like exactly what I want. Do you know if affects the drag factor at all?
Thanks a lot for your help!

Recommendations to purchase good quiet cooling fan
Well, where I live it's beginning to get hot this time of year and instead of firing up the A/C while I'm erging, I would like to find a small-ish, quiet fan that could be placed at the front of my Model E to create a bit of a cooling breeze. I can imagine a fan with some type of clamp-like base whi...

Re: Rules for starting position for indoor sprint races
Wow! Thank all you guys for all the feedback, a surprisingly large amount of which seems to qualify as actual actionable information! It will take me a day or two to review all the videos and citations and get back to you with some follow-up questions, if I may. (Lindsay, you must be the guy who sho...

Rules for starting position for indoor sprint races
I'm threatening to enter the 500m and 2k (65-69 hw male) events in Alexandra on Feb. 18th. It will be my first competition (as I'm a total newbie with maybe 6 lifetime on-water hours and 700km on the erg I began using in July) and I would like some help in understanding the rules regulating one's st...

ErgData 1.54 not sending verif code to C2 online log
Since my Android ErgData app was automatically updated from 1.53 to 1.54 a couple of days ago, all of my pieces have been uploaded to my online log with no problem, just as with v1.53, but now none of the uploaded workouts are verified. Code defect? Anyone else noticed this behavior?

Re: How to: get fan moving for 500m?
Check your drag factor on the monitor, for training rows mine is about 134 but this is NO GOOD for a 500m as I can only get the pace down to about 1:38 so the drag factor needs to go up to about 160-170 which was where it was for my 500m at 1:26 pace. As pointed out above, when you increase the dra...

Re: How to: get fan moving for 500m?
Depends on your target pace but even for training rows now I start with a 1/2 stroke and usually with enough power the second full stroke is faster than target pace. This sounds most like what I'm doing, Carl. Just been using a C2 for 11 days now and working alone--that's why I'm asking these pesky...

Re: How to: get fan moving for 500m?
Thanks a lot, guys, for all the advice--especially about a better topic location to post this question. I will certainly check out the youtube vids as well. Seems to me that for a piece that lasts only 90-100 seconds, it will be critical to get that sucker spinning fast as possible as early as possi...

How to: get fan moving for 500m?
Only been using C2 for 10 days, trying to figure out if there is any special technique to getting the fan up to speed quickly from a standing start for short pieces. I'm working on 500m time. Any advice appreciated.
