Re: PM2+ Screen not working, troubleshooting guide failed
Since the screen showed all its digiits, is the problem more likely to be the thingy that generates the voltage when I row? I don't want to buy a new PM and then find it was the thingy!

PM2+ Screen not working, troubleshooting guide failed
My PM2 appeared dead. I did the four button reset, but nothing. Then - the screen came up. I did the display/reset and all the digits showed. Then it faded to E011 and then nothing.

Re: Is 500m essentially irrelevant for 2K on up?
Brian, that's a great link and chart. My thinking on this question is shaped by watching my high-school age son and his teammates develop their skills in the various running/track events. There's no question that there is a clear trend relating body type (muscle mass, not height so much) with event ...

Re: How to set target SPM/Stroke Cadence?
Greg, thanks for that great link. It seems several folks are noting a general trend with a slower spm for longer events and higher spm for shorter events. I understand better how this applies exclusively to TTs, where head-to-head races would have a totally different dynamic. As more of a sprinter-t...

Re: How to set target SPM/Stroke Cadence?
Bob, thanks for your comments. To clarify/simplify, let's assume we're looking for maximum performance (race or TT) at 500m and 5,000m. If you feel body type is a major factor, let's just say 5'10" and 160 lbs. That should be about average for fit LTs, I think. But please feel free to be more specif...

How to set target SPM/Stroke Cadence?
I have seen conflicting information on the ideal SPM for rowing on the Concept2. Some say 22-27 is ideal, but I see some record holders (at least in sprints) are up to 47 or even 50. Personally, I find it hard to row any speed much different from 30 to 32 for very long, although I haven't really pla...

Re: Injury to buttocks?
Cyclist2, thanks for your reply. Wow, 31k in one session? You deserve to be sore after that - by my math that's over 2 hours of rowing. I think my head would explode after that, let alone my butt! I think my injury was more than the typical muscle soreness after a big increase in working out. I rowe...

Injury to buttocks?
I was rowing normally the other day and felt some discomfort in my left buttock. I didn't think much of it but the following day (getting out of bed) the pain was intense, deep in the center. It built for a couple days to the point I couldn't really walk. Sitting or standing was OK, but transitionin...
