PM5 Questions
Hi There. My PM4 stopped working and I ordered a PM5 thinking the connectivity and app would be a better user experience. As I understand it now, the ability to save customized workouts has been stripped out, is that correct? My online logbook is updated with the total meters and time via the app on...

Workout Question re: Damper Settings
I'm new to the ERG and am following the UK Interactive program. I haven't been adjusting the damper and was wondering what the recommended use of the damper is? Do I increase resistance for the shorter pieces or do I just leave it alone? The pieces range from 1' to 50' any advice would be appreciate...

PM4 question
I've plugged my numbers into the UK interactive program and am following the recommended plan. When doing intervals, I'd like my rest period dictated by my heart rate. Is there a way to set up my PM4? I know I can set it up for an undetermined rest period, is this the best way? I'll be giving it a t...

sheehc & james,
Thanks, I really appreciate your posts. I'm just learning about UT1 and it's starting to make sense.

Re: Heart Rate Training
I have a follow up question related to the information linked from the previous post. I have a hard time keeping my HR down, I find that I am almost always in the 80-85% range. When I try to keep my HR in a lower range, say 65-70% I have to make some changes to what I'm doing. I either pull with les...

Re: Spreadsheet Results downloaded from PM4
I haven't done variable intervals yet, I'll have to give them a try. Is that the only time data is entered under "Interval Rest Results"?

Spreadsheet Results downloaded from PM4
I downloaded my workouts to a spreadsheet via the USB cable. When I open the file, there is a section titled "Interval Rest Results" with Time, Meters and Heart Rate underneath. Is there a way to get data into these cells? Is there some setting or function I need to turn on? I've done preprogrammed ...

Re: Help me understand drag factor
I did feel resistance, but it didn't feel like much. I know what you mean though when say I have a slow and sloppy stroke, I can really tell the difference when I connect a few times. I have no OTW experience and don't know if I ever will, it's just not a reality where I live but the ERG is enough o...

Re: Help me understand drag factor
Thanks Alissa and Bob. Bob, my home machine is at 6,200' and change. The other machine is at sea level. With regards to the higher drag setting, it just feels like I'm pulling against something. The lower settings feel like I'm pulling it through air, flailing around without any resistance. I rowed/...

Re: Help me understand drag factor
Question about drag settings. I started out ergging on a machine at one location, liked it and bought one for home. On the first machine, the damper set at 7 yields a drag setting of 170. On my new home machine, I have it pegged at 10 for a drag setting of 170. If I'm trying to get a similar feel, a...

Re: A Newbie has some questions...
I haven't taken the time to figure my SPI, I'm three weeks in and happy with time and meters. I like using the rankings to measure progress and in time, I would imagine I'll turn to other indicators to gauge my progress. For now, I'm enjoying the benefit of every day being a new PR.

Re: A Newbie has some questions...
Greg, Bob & Claus, thanks for the advice! I spent some time on the links (UK Interactive & Wolverine) and feel like I am starting to understand what people are talking about. I really appreciate the suggestions. HJS, if I understand you correctly, what you're saying is that SPI is a measure of force...
