Odd question (FOR THE MEN)
Okay, this happened to me a few years ago when I was rowing pretty steadily and, now that I have a rowing machine in the house, I am rowing steady again. I've had the same problem come up again. My testes are getting knocked around. What's up with that? On longer rows it gets to hurting so much that...

Re: Can the model C fan be moved to opposite side?
Have you looked at a C Breeze? It will redirect the exhaust air from the fan away from the fan area while also providing cooling while on the erg. http://www.ps-sport.net/CB_main.htm Oh, nice, nice. I just picked up my BARELY used, 3 month old Model D tonight. Do you happen to know if this fits the...

Re: Going for a bit longer rows
If you plug a 40:30 10k in here http://www.machars.net/ , Pauls law ( every doubling of distance the 500m split should increase by five seconds.) would predict a 16k at 2:05 (1:06:30) That's the one I used, and where I messed up was that I just put my 10k pace in and hit the first dropdown on 500m....

Re: Going for a bit longer rows
You're right. After reading this, I went back and checked the chart again. I put the 500m time in from my average from a 10k. I forgot to change the dropdown to 10k and put my time in. Now based on my 10k time I entered in, it tells me my 16k is 2:06.94 split, and 1:07:42 total. Thanks for straighte...

Going for a bit longer rows
I've been doing 10k's lately. I want to do longer rows, like 60' or 16k, perhaps a HM in the next couple of weeks. My 10k's have been coming in 40:30-41:15. That's a 500/m of 2:02 to 2:04 or so. I feel rather comfortable doing a 10k at a 2:03 pace. According to Paul's Law, a 2:03.5/500m should put m...

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?
Did a 20' run. A little over 5k done, and that put me over my first 50k since I started rowing 12 days ago

5k is for most people not long.
Well, I wasn't eluding that a 5k is "long". I was just suggesting a number that would exclude 2k's and lower I guess. Pretend I said HM

Theory on a longer row
By longer I mean 5k or more. Do you pace yourself throughout the entire distance, then sprint the last bit? If so, when would you start your "sprint"? I'm not sure if you should just maintain one speed throughout the end, but it seems kind of a waste if you know you are finishing up and have the gas...

Re: First 500s, help me break down the numbers
Thanks guys. So the 500m is done at a much higher stroke rate then? I thought it was just a higher effort rate. I have been trying to maintain my spm around 22, and only ended up around 25 on these because I got caught up in the effort of things lol. My last one I went balls to the wall for the last...

First 500s, help me break down the numbers
I am doing the Pete Plan for beginners. Today I did 6x500m with 2 min rest in between. My strokes were kept ~25spm. My times were... 1:46.0 1:44.8 1:45.4 1:47.3 1:48.1 1:45.0 Now, are those times in a generally good grouping, or was I all over the board on them? IOW, for those that do 500m intervals...

I think you pretty much just answered what I was asking in an obscure, but understandable, way
That's what I was guessing it was like. Thanks!
