Re: iPad Mount
The tablet mount shown at the Head of the Charles was a kit that we will soon be making available. It consists of a custom bracket as well as a RAM Mount kit that we will be reselling. We’re still working out a few details, but we expect that tablet mounts will be available for the BikeErg as well a...

Re: Rattling Noise?
Sorry to hear that your new SkiErg has developed a rattle. Without hearing the sound, it is hard to guess where it is coming from. If you shoot us an email or give us a call, we should be able to pin down the root cause and take care of the problem. We will probably start the conversation by asking ...

Re: Knocking sound on pulldown of arms
Noise when the flywheel is freewheeling may be a result of a damaged clutch in one of the drive spools. If you shoot us and email or give us a call, we can work with you to get the problem taken care of.

Re: Monitor PM5 Reads out only time and estimated meters in
This is a bug in earlier versions of the PM5 firmware. Pressing the "UNITS" button in the workout review screen so that something other than calories is shown should restore the numbers on the main rowing screen. The best fix for the problem is to update the firmware: http://www.concept2.com/service...

Re: Noise from flywheel (first time use)
The SkiErg should be a pretty quiet machine. There is a slight sound of metal brushing on each stroke; this is the clutches freewheeling. The clutch sound should be covered by the wooshing sound of the air from the flywheel. If you feel your SkiErg is a bit noisier than it should be, give us a call ...

Re: Stiff seat
Users of new indoor rowers may find that the seat carriage does not move quite as quickly as a machine that is several years old. This may be due, in part, to the factory "tightness" of the rollers as described in previous post. A slight sluggishness may also be due to the grease in the bearings. Th...

Re: How is work measured on new SkiErg?
The PM5 programming is able to calculate drag from a very small amount of flywheel deceleration. Once a valid drag factor is determined, the monitor is able to provide accurate data for the rest of the workout. Very rapid single stick skiing at the beginning of a workout does have the potential to i...

Re: Utility not working with PM5.
Version 6.55 of the Concept2 Utility is not compatible with the PM5. We are currently working on the new release of the software which will work for PM3, PM4 and PM5 monitors. We expect to have the software released in the coming weeks and will update our website as soon as it is available. In the m...

Re: New SkiErg - new PM ?
Starting with the PM2, all performance monitors use the same code or mathematics to measure output from any Concept2 ergometer. While we do not recommend doing so, a SkiErg monitor will work on any Indoor Rower* and any Indoor Rower monitor (PM3 or newer) will work on any SkiErg. The There are some ...

Re: Noises from my Model D
It’s possible that the squeaking noise is coming from one or both of the chain idler pulleys (they are the clear urethane pulleys inside the machine that the chain runs over). We’ve seen several instances where the pulley can bind against the axle just enough to vibrate and cause a sort of squeak or...

Re: How Long Should a Chain last?
We transitioned all Indoor Rowers to nickel plated chains starting January of 2013. We found that the potential benefits of the nickel plating made it worth including on all machines. We transitioned all spare parts to nickel plated chains at the same time.
