Re: Problem - Anyone else experiencing pain at the bottom?

What came to my mind just recently - do you have and use rowing shorts (padded) or do you use normal sport shorts?

And what would you prefer: rowing shorts or the C2 seat pad?

Re: Pete Plan 2017

Following the Pete Plan for Beginners, the distances are increasing each weak (5000m, 5500m, 6000m, ...). Would you say it is an improvement if one could stay with the pace from the last week for the longer distance of the following week? Is it good enough to hold the same pace? I'm now in the third...

Re: Start of my training - Estimation

I hope you don't think that I am meticulous, conversely I rather think that it is best to hear to your body and do how it best works for yourself - BUT, as I am new to the whole rowing sport, I am not used to the terms and their meanings - so I had to already ask multiple times what is common practi...

Re: Start of my training - Estimation

Thanks a lot again! One last remaining question. Yesterday I read about an interval training with a 2min rest between the intervals and it said that rest means in this case a no intensity rowing, but not to get off from the erg. So I was wondering, how do you handle this? Does it make any difference...

Re: Start of my training - Estimation

Thanks again to all of you! I will try to have the same pace for all intervals - thanks, cause I was not sure how the common proceeding is. @hjs: What do you mean by "rating should also be higher, at least 28, preferably above 30" - is it the spm? Generally, should there be a higher spm for interval...

Re: Start of my training - Estimation

Thanks a lot - I will do warm up and cool down as you suggested! One reamining question about the interval training. If 6x500m with a 2min rest inbetween is done - should I have for all intervals the same pace? Or can I have for the first three intervals eg. a 2:10, but then being not that fit anymo...

Re: Start of my training - Estimation

Thanks to all of you for your answers - great help! :) Good to hear, that a one or two minute rest can be included without kind of destroying the whole training session - I was already worried about this. @H20: What do you exactly mean by "triple the volume" to get from 2:15 to 2:05 - does the strok...

Start of my training - Estimation

Hey there, a few weeks ago, I got the Model D indoor rower and I love to row. Until now, I rowed 2-3 times per week, for 20-30 minutes each, to build some really basic endurance on rowing and I mostly concentrated on the technique. Now I started with the 24 weeks Pete's Plan for Beginners and I woul...

Re: Problem - Anyone else experiencing pain at the bottom?

Thanks to all of you for your answers! I will definitely continue with my training, hoping to build butt muscles soon (I'm very skinny and don't have much fat there, maybe this is too an encouraging factor). Until then, I will get up every 10 minutes and stand/walk for a minute, as I also did so far...

Problem - Anyone else experiencing pain at the bottom?

Dear all, I am quite new to indoor rowing, getting my rower a few weeks ago. I train about three times per week and I greatly enjoy it, especially on bad weather days. One problem I'm experiencing is that my bottom (butt) starts hurting after about 10 minutes of training. It feels like fallen-asleep...
