Just ran into same problem. The PM5 can go from working well to completely dead overnight? I did have the heart rate monitor stop recording on my last row. Thanks,
Dave

Re: Low stroke rate - how to?
I use RowPro for all of my training rows. For the rest intervals between periods of harder work, it asks me to row at 23-26spm. To keep my heart rate low, I end up pulling pretty easy. Would I be better off resting at my more natural 18-20spm with a somewhat stronger stroke? Much of the assigned wor...

Re: Seat grinds to halt?
Thanks all,
Yes, I’m pretty sure it’s a technique problem. I’ve got poor posture and right shoulder AC tear, making one arm reach further than the other.

Re: Seat grinds to halt?
Yes the lower rollers are in same spots. Both are not at all firmly pushing up against the underside of the rail. In fact, I’m wondering if the seat might be lifting up and upper roller jumping from edge of roller hanging over side of rail to on top of rail.

Seat grinds to halt?
Hi all, I have fairly new rollers, less than a year old I think. Recently I’m getting a loud screeching sound and my seat grinds to a halt near the end of my stroke when legs are almost fully extended. Normally I would attribute this to worn out rollers, but they look pretty good to me, are under a ...

Re: RowPro and heart rates
I tried to adjusting my age in RowPro and that allowed me to easily derive the equations that it uses to compute the bands. The only reason why I decided to use it is that it supposedly gives me progressively harder training plans. Don't really care about any of the graphics gimmicks and the first ...

Re: Age related decline
I’m 57, and feel like the decrease in performance has accelerated through my 50’s. My results are contaminated by about 3 years devoid of exercise in my early 50’s. Do any people see improvement in their late 50’s. I see some of the amazing times by others on this forum, and it makes me think there ...

Re: Upgrade Mac OS Catalina, Row Pro
For those interested, I was able to uninstall OS Catalina, restore OS Mojave from AirPort Time Capsule, and regain the RowPro connection to the Mac.

Re: Upgrade Mac OS Catalina, Row Pro
Do you think removing OS Catalina and reinstalling Older OS Mojave should get me back up and running? I’m restoring to Mojave now but takes 6-8 hours.

Upgrade Mac OS Catalina, Row Pro
I’m using current version RowPro 5.3. Just upgraded to Mac OS Catalina and now can’t get the PM5 to connect to RowPro. Heart rate doesn’t show on monitor. Any thoughts? Thanks,
Dave

Re: Increasing stroke rate / aerobic capacity
I’ve added in a very small amount of jogging ~1mile after each rowing session over the last month or so. I’m not sure, but I think it’s helping me to rate up a bit. I’m currently doing a RowPro 2K Plan. In RowPro the base work between intervals (UT2 I believe) is at higher rating than I think most h...

RowPro HR Zones v. UT1, UT2, AT, etc
Hello, In the RowPro training programs they have training zones named easy, slow pressure, tempo load, power shift, Max SS, starts. How do/should the target heart rate zones compare to UT1, UT2, AT, TR, AN? For example, during the active rest between intervals should the HR zone be about UT2? Thanks...

Re: When is it time to take a day off?
I agree that sleep is huge. Sometimes I’m just amazed at the recovery that can occur overnight. I’m 56, do people find they need rest more often when older? Many of you guys have >50 yrs old times that are awesome and faster than what I did in my 30’s. Gives me hope for improvement!

When is it time to take a day off?
Hi, I’m curious when others feel it’s time to take a rest day. I know I’ve read that 1 day per week is sort of mandatory. But somehow I’ve now done about 3 weeks without a rest day and I’m pretty sure I could use a rest day. It got me thinking; how do others decide its time for a rest day? General f...

Re: Increasing stroke rate / aerobic capacity
For the last 18 months I’ve been using RowPro training programs. I’m currently doing the 2K program because the easy days use a slightly higher rating of 24-28. Over the last 18 months I’ve done 5K/6K program a few times, 30 minute program couple times, and the 10K program at least once. Each progra...
