Re: The TimbukTOO/TIMBUK2 Team Room SEASON 2010

Thanks Jim. There has been a lot going on in the past week and a half and it felt good to let it all out today and break the 7:30 barrier for a 2k. B)

Re: The TimbukTOO/TIMBUK2 Team Room SEASON 2010

I wanted to mention one of the benefits of rowing on the erg. Tristan has been having football practice these past 2 weeks and the coaches are amazed at how much more strength and endurance he has this year. He has always been a little pudgy and slow, but after rowing fairly regularly for a year, h...

Re: The TimbukTOO/TIMBUK2 Team Room SEASON 2010

I was looking around and found this page http://www.concept2.com/sranking03/challenge/annual_meters2011.asp?daily=10000. It shows everyone who has rowed > 10k per day so far this season. Our fearless leader Jim is #14. That's out of everyone who has logged any meters this season... worldwide. That's...

Re: The TimbukTOO/TIMBUK2 Team Room SEASON 2010

I had a good rowing week. I wish I could have rowed more. I had a 10k, 1-hour row and a half-marathon. The kids have been gone all week, so no distractions. Oh well, I miss them.

Re: The TimbukTOO/TIMBUK2 Team Room SEASON 2010

my "half-marathon+" was actually a 10k Monday and 10k + a little extra yesterday. I'm thinking that I'll end up having to row a half toward the end of the month to get the dog days completed.

Re: The TimbukTOO/TIMBUK2 Team Room SEASON 2010

That's an accomplishment. It's easy to put off rowing when you are busy. Way to go keeping up with the exercise. Sometimes that's what helps me get through. If I'm tired that usually means that I need to row.

Re: The TimbukTOO/TIMBUK2 Team Room SEASON 2010

I sometimes forget to upload the log. So my 12k yesterday was really a 6k yesterday and a 6k on Wednesday. I'm trying to figure out a time that I can squeeze 3.5 hours in to get a marathon done. It might be a while though. :(

Re: The TimbukTOO/TIMBUK2 Team Room SEASON 2010

A sub-2 minute million meter is quite amazing!! I'm just pressing on and hoping to get there by Christmas. I had ~ 450k before I started back up and am averaging a little over 100k per month. So I should get to a million meters at the end of November or early December. These long rows help knock out...

Re: The TimbukTOO/TIMBUK2 Team Room SEASON 2010

That's funny because I would just feel defeated and stop with the Just Row on a main workout. Although I also do mini-goals throughout a workout. I usually do math in my head and figure out what I need to row in order to get to a certain time/meter combination.

Re: The TimbukTOO/TIMBUK2 Team Room SEASON 2010

I just noticed that we just past 7 million meters!! Also today I realized that when I feel strong, timed pieces work better and when I feel tired, set meters work better. I guess knowing that I'm on the clock and it doesn't stop helps me to stop being tired and just keep pulling.

Re: The TimbukTOO/TIMBUK2 Team Room SEASON 2010

Thanks Jim. I totally forgot that yesterday was the Summer Solstice row. I would have rowed a half-marathon. A lot has been going on lately and I've missed a few days. Sorry.

Re: The TimbukTOO/TIMBUK2 Team Room SEASON 2010

I'm so excited. I rowed two 10km pieces over the weekend, a half marathon on Monday and then took yesterday off. I rowed a 30 minute piece this morning and blew my previous PB out of the water by over 200m!! I think that I can get to 7.500m by the end of the year, but I'd also like to get under 20 m...

Re: The TimbukTOO/TIMBUK2 Team Room SEASON 2010

I really enjoyed rowing to the world cup matches. I found that I could row a 10km piece easily during a half. The time flies by quicker because the pace of the game is just right for a row. Not too exciting but constant motion to keep you distracted from the meters clicking off of the monitor. With ...
