Great thread! I’ve been doing a modified version of wolverine plan for about 1 year. Although I dread L1 and L2’s, I love finishing them and the progress keeps me motivated. Whatever you've done throughout the years it must have been right. An 8:00 2K at your age is amazing especially when I compare you to the 80+ year olds I'm around.

A couple of things to add: You have to be mentally tough to erg well—much more so than cycling in my opinion. It is all YOU on the erg—especially so in training. For example, just yesterday I did a 4x2000 meter L2 session. The 3rd interval was hard enough to where I knew finishing the 4th would be W...
