Re: What Training Have You Done Today?

Just saw - hope you can get back to rowing. Swimming will be good to stay fit - back injuries are tough - I had 2 back surgeries (discs) and I bounced back fairly quick but they were minor compared to some back issues. Will be anxious to see how you progress. Thanks Keith - I was almost back to PB ...

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?

I haven't posted for ages and sadly haven't rowed properly for several months due to my back, and not sure I can row again but thanks for all the fun/advice/help. Last attempt was a slow 2k a month ago but just wasn't possible to complete. I am up to more than 9 million metres since I started in 201...

Re: New Personal Best! Brag About That New Pb!

@btlifter - just watched the video with commentary. A few observations. 1. Your comment that 850m to go might as well be 9 miles - accurate! 2. Always fun to see these kinds of world class aerobic feats carried out in garages and sheds and the like - sort of feels like it fits in with the 'glamour' ...

Re: New Personal Best! Brag About That New Pb!

I’m delighted to report that I finally broke the horrific 8k in 30 min barrier after 3 years of trying! Pretty much smashed through it in fact and beat my prior 30 min PB by 83m. Very pleased! 30 min - 8051m - 1.51.7 - r28 Splits: 1.51.6 r27 1.52.5 r28 1.52.0 r28 1.52.3 r28 1.52.2 r29 1.52.5 r28 1....

Re: New Personal Best! Brag About That New Pb!

SRIC LM40 and a small 🚨PB🚨 by 0.5s. First ever race of any kind, I was extremely nervous and spent the morning on porcelain 🙄😁. I had tested all connections before but sods law a Windows update led to some unnecessary stress 🤬....had to go to my work laptop. It's fair to say I blew my lot early and...

Re: Wanting to go Sub7 2K for the first time - anybody onboard?

Made it! 6:58.9 today & super pleased. I wasn’t really as prepared as I’d have liked with Level1 (eg. 8x500) and 2 (eg. 4x2k) intervals. Been slacking a bit & substituting with Level4 (rate based paces 16-24)). Those were going very well though so thought I’d give it a go! WG Congratulations! Great...

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?

Doing a bit of 2k prep lately so part of today's session was 8x500m with 1 minute rest. Aim was 1:42.0 or lower and although it was pretty tough I managed to do it - splits below, including the last three at higher rating as that is the only way I could get it done (not sure why, maybe someone can e...

New 2k PB for me today: 6.51.6, a 4.7" improvement from 3+ years ago.
Great work! I can't help notice that quite a few of our times are very similar, so perhaps I can use you as extra motivation!

Great to take such a big chunk off the 2k there.

Re: New Personal Best! Brag About That New Pb!

It's a silly PB, because I'm new and every 4th row or so ends up being a new personal best. But, I was super thrilled to crack 30 minutes on my 5k. My first 5k towards the beginning of the month was 35:22 on Oct 9th and today's 5k was 28:41. I would love to see 25- just to be in the bottom 25% of m...

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?

Half Marathon today - medium pace for me, first half mostly UT2 then second half UT1. 1:28:39.5 / 2:06.0.

This was the 14th HM I've done and today was just because I was low on metres for the week. DF was 106, stroke rate 19.

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?

Today was as follows: 2k warm up 8:44.2 at 2:11.0 5k speed test, just to check form. Aimed to sit at 1:51.0 until last 500 then speed up. A bit tough but managed to do it and ended up 18:25.5, 1:50.5 at rate 25. 4x500, 1r - this was actually pretty tough after the hard 5k but I managed not to quit, ...

Re: New Personal Best! Brag About That New Pb!

I'm falling so far behind with keeping up to date on all the epic PBs here so I'm just really stopping by again to catch up - and of course to say congratulations to the PB speed demons, including: Max - 500 metres of glory! Rich - incredible time on the 500 considering everything, including altitud...
