Re: A Comfortable Seat
I find that the Model D seat is pretty bad. As a long time cyclist my experience tells me padding is not a great answer, more of a band aid, but I found that putting on a cheap pad with sit bone holes was good enough. Ideally I'd carve a nice wooden seat with no padding, but my wife would declare th...

Update
I went to see my shoulder doc and got a cortisone injection in the AC joint. I have been pain free since then. My times have improved a good bit at all distances too, but I don't know that it is because of the shot. Last time the shot was good for 8 months. The doc hinted that I may want to opt for ...

Thanks for your comments and advice. I agree with much of what you have said and will take the rest under advisement. I also have found that solid ice doesn't make enough thermal contact. I find that the frozen gel packs work pretty well though as does a bag of ice and water. My pain with swimming h...

Whenever you start to feel any pain from the exercise, stop. Ice again, and then continue on with your exercise. Interestingly, I never feel any shoulder pain during my workout either erging of bicycling. The pain only comes after. Some activities, swimming for one, bring the pain on immediately. T...

Just reporting back... So far I am supplementing the erging with just a few things: Dumbell "bench presses" on exercise ball Dumbell "bench presses" with back at 45 degree angle on exercise ball Ab crunches on exercise ball "Reverse situps" I am also bicycling instead of or in addition to erging som...

General Fitness at 55
I am 55 years old and had been cycling as my primary form or exercise, but recently bought a C2 D model. I have been working out on the erg for 25 - 45 minutes daily (I take a day off once a week or so). I mix up my workouts without much of a plan. As the weather gets better I will bicycle more days...

Rowing for Exercise When Sailing?
I was wondering what the lower limit was when it came to boat size for sliding seat rowing. I would like to be able to tow something behind my sailboat (Alberg 30). Ideally it would be nice to have something that could act as a tender and still allow a good workout. In one mode it would need to carr...

Re: RowIt Anomoly
If I do a session with a set duration Rowit reports the time just short. For example a thirty minute session would come up as 29.99.99 while the PM3 shows it as 30:00.00. A similar thing happens if I set it to do a set distance like 5000 meters. I figure it is OK to use the figures from the PM3 so ...

I guess you also know that wine does not support usb? Are you sure? I read about someone using a usb gps with oziexplorer under wine. Check out the following link for details: http://www.oziexplorer3.com/support/oziexplorer/other/linux.html edit - Maybe not relevent since it is using what looks lik...

RTFA I refered to; you total BOZO. Things that are not compensated are: * Changes in the chain friction * Changes in the tension of the return mechanism * Manufacturing variations flywheel moments of inertia (probably negligible) * Changes in flywheel moments of inertia (unlikely with the solid fly...

Re: Rowit under wine
I have the same problem. Keep us posted if you have any luck. I haven't had much chance to tinker with this yet, but I will post if I have any success.atheist wrote:hello,
has anyone had any luck getting Rowit to work under wine? I was able to install it, and launch, but no dice actually running it.
