Re: PM5 monitors different hardware
Well, one difference is that third-party programs will often support the newer version first. EXR only supported the newer PM5 at first, but now supports both. (All three?)

Re: Erdata in the Background for Video (Android)
ErgData can't run in the background. A while ago they implemented it but there were many problems and I think they took it out. But if your Android is new enough you could run ErgData in split screen with YouTube, or run Netflix PIP. (Netflix doesn't support split screen.)

Re: Which cell phone for pm5 / ergdata ?
OTG is a function of the phone not the cable. An "OTG cable" is just a size adapter that converts larger USB plugs into smaller USB plugs on the phone. All this has become easier with USB-C since computers and phones have the same port now. This said HTC One is OTG capable. Try plugging something el...

Re: Chain snag
Thanks for the replies. One quick squirt of WD40 to free the stuck link. Remember that WD40 is NOT a lubricant. Will try looking again for problematic links. Aside from quite a bit of dust I didn't really notice any problems before. Have you still got the gold coloured bearing as part of the handle ...

Chain snag
My Model D's chain sometimes makes a soft clinking sound during the drive phase, when it makes the sound I can also feel a bit of a snag. Actually I feel the snag more than I can hear the sound. It doesn't happen very often, maybe once every 10 minutes or more. But some days no problems at all. I tr...

Re: KREW seems promising for Android
I really like KREW and used it since it was first available and the developers are really nice. But as they developed more features and made it more stable it actually got less stable for me so I gave up. I have a first generation PM5, not sure if that's the issue. Right now I use AK Rowing on my Ga...

Re: App for Garmin Edge
Hi, I tried your AK Rowing on the Forerunner 935. Works very well, good job.
I know it's not possible to directly save the distance rowed into the workout, but is it possible to save the number of strokes?
Also, please save more data in extra IQ fields if possible.

Re: Heart Monitor Question
FWIW I also have no issues with my Polar H10 (aside from the firmware update issue, still doens't work). I regularly use it with my Garmin watch and PM5 (ANT+) and also with Zwift on my Android and iPad (BLE). No dropouts and far more stable than everything else that I have.

Re: Heart Monitor Question
I had to install both the Polar Beat, and Polar Flow apps, make sure I had a Polar account, and was logged into that account in both apps. Yeah thanks, I've seen you had written that somewhere else and tried but still couldnt' get it to work. Even tried on both Android and iOS. Will give it another...

Re: Heart Monitor Question
I also have several HRM and I also like the Polar H10 best. But strangely enough my Polar H10 can't be updated to the latest firmware. I had previously updated it to the ANT+ firmware, but since then it couldn't be updated.

Re: Is Polar H10 compatible with PM5?
Be sure your H10 is running the latest firmware. The earlier posts in this thread are outdated. The H10 now supports simultaneous ANT+ and two BLE connections, but you have to be running the latest firmware and have those options enabled by using Polar Beat app.

Re: Can't update through flash drive due to hardware error
For future reference, the Sandisk Ultra Fit can work with the PM5, but it's one of those USB 3.1 miniature drives that generate enormous amounts of heat that easily self destructs and could easily destroy your equipment at the same time. So it's best to be avoided.

Re: ErgData always on, no shut down option?
I think this is a "feature" since it only happens on my phone that runs Android 9 and not on my older phone that runs Android 6. I think it's supposed to allow ErgData to be backgrounded without losing connection or being force closed by the OS, but the implementation isn't done correctly.
