Re: How do you use the pace boat?
I'm not sure, if you're asking how to make the pace boat appear (and how to set monitor), or, how we make use, of the pace boat screen. I think the monitor setting has, already, been addressed. As for how I make use of this (very nice) option, I'll say I use it, every time I'm on the rower (say 5 mo...

Re: Upgrade used model C vs buying used model D? What to upgrade?
Congratulations, and nice work! I think you made good decisions, throughout the process. Smart, I think, to go ahead, now, and replace the, relatively inexpensive, bits, so you can enjoy their performance. You’ve ended up with a very nice machine that, I suspect, will last far beyond the 20 years, y...

Re: Life span of shock cords/chains? Decades-old erg...
At 15 years the cord would be stuffed no matter how much its been used. The rubber just perishes with age. The difference was most noticeable when I replaced the cords in 6 Model C Erg's that were side by side, it was easy to compare the tension on them with an old vs new cord with the rower on its...

Re: Am I sick??? shocked by my numbers
I, too, recently decided to begin using my rower, again, as my feet were protesting, from the, nearly daily, 2-hour mountain lake-trail walks I enjoy. Have decided to work toward dividing time, equally, eventually, between walking and erging, aiming at 2 hours, total, per day, of these activities. S...

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?
A look back, at March: For the month, a total of 212,800 meters. 25 sessions total. 5 sessions at 8K meters. 15 sessions at 9K meters (my new standard). The other 5 sessions varied, in meters, from 7000 - 8500. All at damper setting 7. Drag factor ~145. S/M ~20-21. Pace? 2:38, or very slightly faste...

Another backward-looking, monthly post, similar to my last post, on page 1711. For the month of February, a total of 181,500 meters. 23 sessions total. 19 sessions at 8K meters. The other 4 sessions varied, in meters, from 6900 - 7600. All at damper setting 7. Drag factor ~145. S/M ~20-21. Pace? 2:3...

Hello, all. It's been some time since I've posted, but I've been reading what you guys have been writing, and I've been enjoying that. I also want to say that I wish health improvement for the several of you who have mentioned health issues, of various types. This is more of a backward-looking post,...

Re: Model B - rebalance flywheel or get a Model D?
I know nothing about Model Bs, but if you think the flywheel is out of balance (sort-of hard to imagine that it's out of balance much - though C2 does add balancing weights here and there, I think), and if you're handy with hand tools, checking the balance of the flywheel might be easy enough. I bal...

Re: How do calorie counters work on ergs etc & how accurate?
I don't really know, but I would have thought the simplicity of C2 ergs, with energy being put into a circular disc of known size & mass, would lend itself to fairly accurate calorie readings, if the displayed values are run through the C2weight-correcting formula. A lot of information can be taken ...
