Re: weight loss

Remember that weight loss is more about diet than exercise - especially if you want quick results. If you get rid of carbohydrates (bread, fruit, sugar, certain vegetables) and replace those with healthy fats and meat, you can eat all you want, feel great, and have the energy to exercise. In fact, y...

Re: Start the fat fighting :/

Hi Since you are already familiar with Intermittent Fasting, you are probably also familiar with the concept of ketosis, and I would assume you have already considered going low-carb. Fasting combined with low carb - high fat is a very easy way to loose fat. You don't need to count or restrict calor...

Re: 1 month fast? thoughts and advice needed

Check out the Snake diet. Lots on Youtube. He recommends "Snakejuice", which is salt water. He's a power lifter by the way. His style can be a bit aggressive, but he seems to know what he's talking about.

Just came across this on youtube. It diggs a bit deeper than most videos: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JLyOyWls9_Y

You might like this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=whtXlbUR4yU It is Olympic rower, Cameron Nichol teaching two novice rowers (crosfitters) how to row. You can safely skip the first 6 minutes. There are many great tips, and from around 14:40, the girl gets some great advise on the 3 phases of ...

Re: Form Check Video

HJS already touched upon this, but I think increasing the drag is key here. In the video you are unable to "connect" properly at the catch because the flywheel is already spinning really fast. Increasing the drag will make the flywheel slow down quicker, thus making it much easier for you to feel th...

Re: Correct technique?

To me it looks like you are using both back and legs at the same time - even on the recovery. That results in a quite - lets call it - unique rhythm that might not be optimal for you. Does your hip flexor get sore or tired towards the end of the row? You might want to focus more on the timing of the...

Re: What Training Have You Done Today?

Did my first HM today in 1 hour 32 min, which I am pretty stoked about. I aimed for a 2:10 split and made breaks for water every 5k, so it was "smooth sailing" - did take some mental energy, though, to endure sitting that long that dang Concept2 seat ;-)

Re: Calories burned

Note that in the US, CSV files use the comma (,) as delimiter, whereas most European countries use the semi colon (;). So if your PM uses US format and your Excel uses the European format, things probably won't look as expected.

Re: Rowing and Dieting, loose clothes and no weight loss

A tape measure would probably give you a more realistic picture of your progress than does stepping onto a scale. You will gain some muscle mass, and that is denser than fat tissue. So you kind of owe it to yourself not to focus too much on your weight and more on e.g. your waist measure and how you...
