I did the reset as per the instruction manual and it's using fresh 357 batteries...pretty sure they're silver oxide. The contrast on the monitor is actual fine. It's clear as day with the new batteries its just the spm shows a pretty accurate rate most of the time but occasionally jumps to some unbe...

Anyone using a PM1 that could answer a question?
I have model B with a PM1 and when I row sometimes my strokes per minute jumps all over the place...as in sometimes it'll read 76 spm...Now I know one can row at a fairly high rate but I know that I am not moving anywhere near that fast. Is this a common issue with the PM1? Is mine malfunctioning or...

This is a bit late but...Thank you guys for the all of the feedback. I'll be taking the consensus advice and just stick with what I have for now. It definitely works for my purposes and I guess I'll just figure out the optimal setting for vent as I go. Thanks again!

So I have a great condition model B (actually the limited run one that had the plastic track) and it came with a PM1 on it. I am fairly new to rowing but from the reading I've done it seems that knowing drag factor is a big deal. Problem with the PM1 is no drag factor display. Does this really matte...

Just FYI, if you haven't seen it already there is a PM1 disassembly guide in the support section. it tells you how to take apart and clean the PM1 which might help. Apparently you can remove the LCD from the circuit board and clean the contacts which may help.
