From a study I read the best interval for weight loss is 8 secs on then 12 off and repeat. Are you offering your services? Is Java up to USB communications with a HID device? .Net can interact with HID devices (Vista comes with .net 3.0 preinstalled) (search for c# HID on google) Java can do the same thing with JNI but then its not cross platform so no advantage there.
