Re: How to integrate HIIT into daily wworkouts
Fartlek. They make up 75% of my BikeErg workouts. You can integrate that 6 x 1:00 into a steady 60 minute workout by using Intervals: Variable and programming it as 9/1/9/1/9/1 etc etc all with zero rests. Ride the 9 minute sections at upper zone 2 (~75% of FTP) and blast the minute sections at upw...

How to integrate HIIT into daily wworkouts
I try to workout 60 minutes a day. So in a week I average somewhere around 420 minutes total workout time, most of which is spent in aerobic zones and rarely exceeds 90% of my FTP. I am experimenting, however, with integrating High Intensity Intervals into the total weekly workout minutes. For examp...

Re: Sprinting During Aerobic Workouts
You say that your HR never exceeded 82% of max HR How have you calculated your max HR - is it max running HR, cycling HR, rowing HR ? I took the highest reading on the BikeErg for a HIIT workouit: 15 x 1:00 max effort / 1:00 active recovery. I started rowing on a Model C when I was 50 years old. In...

Sprinting During Aerobic Workouts
Four months ago I started combining workouts on the BikeErg with rowing workouts. This afternoon on the BikeErg I did a long endurance ride with sprinting approximately every 10 minutes. According to Andy Coggan’s power profiling chart, Sprinting is effort less than 30 seconds and focused on develop...

Re: Does Avg Watts correlate to Avg Power/kg?
I..unless your mass changed significantly from beginning to end of the ride  Oh yeah! Happens all the time. But it is nice to have a bit of reassurance. It makes sense that Watts, Pace, Power/kg, Projected Finish, RPM correlate to some extent and can be used to indicate Training Zones ...

Does Avg Watts correlate to Avg Power/kg?
Dear all, I am just beginning to learn about how to use the ErgBike. I have done my first FTP Test, and I am wondering if 75% of FTP roughly correlates to 75% of Avg Watts? This would be very convenient inasmuch as the PM5 shows a value for Avg Watts but does not show a value for Avg Power/kg. Warme...

Re: Inserting PM5 into handlebar
I couldn't fit the handlebar into my BikeErg also. It was a huge disappointment, especially because it was on a Friday afternoon over the Labor Day Weekend and I live in California. I had to wait until Tuesday to contact Concept2 for help. The only solution was to send me a replacement handlebar. Af...

Re: Threading Tach Wire Cable through Front Leg/Monitor Arm Assembly on Dynamic Indoor Rower
I think I may have found the problem. I lubricate the chain on the Dynamic Indoor Rower as instructed, which is about every 50 days, and today was the day to do it. I just follow the instructions in the user manual. When I pulled out the chain to rub it with the instructed teaspoon of purified miner...

Threading Tach Wire Cable through Front Leg/Monitor Arm Assembly on Dynamic Indoor Rower
This is the copy of an email that I just sent to Nathan Paulin and Trevor Braun at Concept2. I am hoping that someone on this Forum might be able help with this probroblem. Dear Trevor and Nathan, Since early October every time I go to row on my Dynamic Indoor Rower the PM5 boots with the following ...

Re: Not Verified BikeErg Workout.
I was about to reply and say that Just Rides won't show as verified, but looking at my logbook I spotted a verified Just Ride from 2 rides ago. But the bulk seem to be not verified. Maybe that one was an anomaly. Dave, I could have written the same post. Our observations are identical. I did a Just...

Re: Adjusting the handlebar reach position
Hi All, Just got a new BikeErg ... the handlebar reach adjustment seems to be very tight Had the same problem. Maybe worse because I couldn't fit the handlebar through the handlebar post opening. Ben Hickory at Concept2 Tech Support sent me a replacement handlebar. The replacement was quite tight; ...

Re: Not Verified BikeErg Workout.
Moments ago I talked to Megan at Concept2 Support. Megan speculated that the "not verified" might be attributed to the type of data entry. She wondered if only Ranked Workouts get a Verification Code. The workout in question was a Just Ride workout, slightly longer than 30 mins, and sure enough ther...

Why is my BikeErg workout listed in my Logbook as "not verified" when it was entered by ErgData?

Re: Stroke count is misreported in LogBook
I strongly suspect that the problem with the PM5's incorrectly reporting the Total Stroke Count is in the hardware. It's not the hardware. It's most likely a firmware bug in the routines that run "Just Row". My first row on the Dynamic Indoor Rower (DIY) was 17 January 2017. Since then I have rowed...
