Running VMWare instead of Parallels...

I work with virtual machine software all the time for work and play. I have used and run Parallels, VMWare Fusion (1, 2 and 3) and also VirtualBox from Sun (free). These systems allow you to emulate a x86 PC hardware system in software, and do it with advantages and disadvantages over others. The mo...

Its not the same...

RowPro is really an online rowing tool allowing you to row against others, and also see a simulated rowing event in 3D on your computer screen. The online logbook is an integrated tool to the concept 2 company and its events. It also gives you the ability (as do others) to rank yourself against othe...

Why not dynamically grow the array...

I'm not sure why you wouldn't just grow the array as needed, and never have this issue surface again. Maybe every 1K strokes you just grow it by 1K.

As far as I know...

The OS X support for the readers is very limited, and it would be great as part of software being made to work with the older readers that a new software SDK for OS X be brought to the masses. with 10+ % of the market OS X now, it would make some sense to make software developers able to read and ma...

Albeit tight, I have been told...

It has been told to me by 3 olympian single scullers that rowing with straps tight is not a good thing to get used to doing. It encourages too much of a power stroke resulting in jerky boat motion. However, if you are only rowing on an erg, it may not matter than at all. I have been told to row with...

Windex and a few minutes...

I didn't even bother to take off the seat. Just get two paper towels, fold them into quarters (together) and spray windex on the paper towels in a distributed fashion. Take towels and hold against the rollers and move the seat forward and back (watch fingers and paper getting snagged). Use finger na...

We use both Polar and Suunto...

My GF and I bought the Model D with PM4 and rails (a real winner here, they are amazingly fun to use). She didn't want to use my sweety Suunto so she wanted the wireless pickup module (easy to install). My recommendation, of course depending on your needs, is what I we bought. Model D, PM4, polar mo...

Get VMWare Fusion for Mac OSX and bypass Parallels

Either get the VMWare Fusion 3.x for OS X or get VirtualBox from Sun Microsystems. Parallels is a complete waste of money and time.

As for the value of RowPro, it all depends on how motivated you are to do things alone.

RE: will only upgrade automatically if configured...

If you are using the old Concept 2 LogCard Utility you will have to start the firmware upgrade manually. If you have the new Concept 2 Utility you will be able to automatically configure the application to do this for you. The new software is available online at concept2.com
