Re: PM5 Question
Interesting... I'm almost positive that my PM4 does not have that option. I'll double check tonight.

PM5 Question
Can the PM5 be set up with intervals of various distances / rest times? If not, and if anyone from Concept2 reads here consider it a suggestion. It would be nice to be able to program a workout (for example) of a 2000m piece, a 1500m piece and a 1000m piece. (Instead of having to re-set up the monit...

Re: Bodyweight exercises to compliment C2?
I'll echo what everyone else is saying pretty much…. the list of calisthenics that requires zero to little equipment is almost endless…. Push-ups, Pull-ups, sit-ups, body squats, burpees, planks, step ups (onto a box), mountain climbers, walking / jogging etc. etc. If you can't do pull-ups, start wi...

Re: Could he have been helped by the fan?
Bob - very cool and congratulations on the records! Total respect that you keep on it... Best wishes for good things to come in the coming years! Armando - I agree that it is likely not a highly recorded distance in the rowing world. I'm sure there are some that can go faster, but I'm not sure abou...

Re: Seated vs. Regular
Just be sure you are instructed on proper form when squatting, deadlifting, and especially cleans. If you have never performed any of these exercises start with progressions. Rack pulls for deads, squatting to a bench or box or goblet squats, and just make sure you get instruction on cleans from so...

Re: Is a Concept 2 "good enough" ??
I think you can accomplish a lot at home with the concept 2 erg. As others suggested, supplement with calisthenics. Push ups, pull ups, sit ups, burpees, walking lunges etc etc. throw a set of dumbells or kettle bells in the mix and there isn't much you can't accomplish.

American records for various distances are indeed recognized on the Concept 2 website.

That appears to be an american record…. anyone from Concept 2 monitor this board? If so, someone should find a way to contact him for proper recognition!

Re: Could he have been helped by the fan?
Hmm... But in general, will a fan pointed directly at the flywheel the way it is in this video affect the score?

Impressive either way… video of a cross fitter pulling a 1:17

I'm wondering if the fan pointed right at the flywheel (I think intended to keep him cool) could have helped?

Re: 2k time for university
It sounds like you're from out of the states. I am unsure of what schools you mean, but lens rowing in the states are not under NCAA jurisdiction. D1 is not an appropriate term. The best schools are the ivy leagues which are not d1 in other sports. Washington, cal and Wisconsin are the only d1 scho...
